The table was silent, in fact the whole tavern seemed to be rather quiet to be honest. Flicking his purple and blue mane to the side some, for again it was sliding onto the table where he and the cap'n were sitting. Perhaps a song would lift the spirits of the inn, though with the pounding rain outside it would be hard to sing loud enough to be heard. Sighing some the qitari set his head upon the table, staring into the flame of the candle as he did.
"Cheer up mate." The nixi said to his counterpart. "As soon as the storm passes we can head down the port to the next town to look for some crew members." His voice was rather cheerful though one could tell he was exactly thrilled to be here. If it wasn't for the ale he might not have even had a happy tone.
"You think so? I honestly am starting to get the impression that no one in these towns wants to join." The stallion raised an eyebrow for a moment before snorting a bit. "If you hadn't scared the last ones off that is."
"I didn't scare them off, they were simply misled by some superstitious tales is all. In my years at sea I have yet to see one siren, not harpy! It's pure poppycock.(nonsense)"
"If you saw one I bet you would change your tone." Dandelion teased though the stare he got from the nixi shot down his cockiness.
"Right I would, with you in toe. Can't keep your honeyed words to yourself."

"Hi mister! Can I get you a thingie?" A young Morkko asked the two, with eyes of wonder

Adria lay on a bench by the window of the tavern, flicking her tail lazily as she watched the storm outside. She longed to be back on the ocean, but she was out of a job, and she needed to support her brother, so here she was, trying to catch wind of a job opportunity. It was the fourth time she'd been here in a week, asking around for a job, taking over the shifts of the bartenders who were sick.

Blue stared at her food, she seemed annoyed. She slammed her paw on the ground and stood up. I demand to know which idiot made this sad excuse for a meal! My little brother can make a better soup, and he is too young to use a knife! she roared. She recently quit/was fired from her job because she got very mad after one of her coworkers threw some extra chili powder into her soup, She then proceeded to throw the soup on the coworker. She was not exactly very happy at the moment, unlike she usually was.

Cattail looked at the puff nervously, drinking his tea

"Oh, 'a woman can't do this', 'a woman can't do that'." Seren had just come from the pier, where her searching for a job had yielded no result. The blue furred vixen muttered angrily to herself as she trotted into the tavern. Her golden eyes darted around, taking in the looks of the other customers. A few around... another nixi and a rather regal looking Qitari sitting together were the two that mainly caught her eye. She turned away however and leaped up onto a stool by the bar with ease. "Got any food?" she asked bartender, narrowing her eyes slightly and trying to look as imposing as possible in her small frame.

As the small morrko addressed them the nixi looked to them a moment. "Naw I think we're good, mate." Smutty said with a toothy smiled before leaning over and lapping up some of his mead. As the puff called the cook out on the soup both him and Dandelion looked over.
"Yes, finally something happening! Fight!" The qitari called out standing with a clip of his hooves. With his teeth he picked up a loot from his pack and sat for a moment strumming the instrument that was sitting on his lap. The song was one commonly played on the battle field, one made to encourage the shoulders to fight. Oh course it was all just a tease, a jest even just something to lighten the mood.

"Hey kid!" Aria called to the young Morkko. She might as well ask if they had caught wind of any jobs.

You bet I would fight the cook! They are a disgrace to all good chefs left in this world! She yelled. She jumped on top one of the tables. Come out here and face me! Dont hide in your kitchen! A good cook will defend thier food to the end! she shrieked. She would draw them out of the kitchen. she Didnt care much if she was beat up, as long as by the end of all this, people were smiling and laughing, having a good time.

Seren giggled, covering her mouth with her paw as a few people turned her way. The qitari who she had spotted earlier seemed to be playing an instrument of some sort. A feisty puff was yelling out insults toward whoever the cook was in the tavern. Intrigued, the Nixi leaped off the barstool. "Nevermind my comment 'bout wanting food earlier," she said to the bartender, then walked over to sit beside the qitari and nixi.
