She stood up. "This is a game," the soft voice filled the room with an angelic ring to it. Her striking blue eyes looked along the musty room with a dusty, dull chandelier hanging helplessly above her. It let off a pale orange light, illuminating the darkness in the locked room. Ilya stepped forward. As her long, black boots high heel touched the floor, it let out a taunting sound. She kept her head high.
The door was her goal.

"Monster" "Monster, Monster" the words echoed through her mind like unstoppable screams. She tucked her legs, burying her pain encrusted eyes in between them, pressing against her knees so that they stung worse than before. The words crawled as she sobbed, burying into her mind and making their home within her fear. Her neck was burning. It felt like something was lodged in there, she felt like she was suffocating as the room whirled around her in disorder and chaos. She wouldn't breathe, not anymore. The knife had been plunged into her chest.
No tears came out, only a horrified noiseless scream just filled the air with silence.
No one came. She was alone.

The night was no harder than usual as the girl slept, nightmares clouding the darkness of her mind like ink.

The next day, the bell rang. She wandered the endless corridors to her next class. In the bustling corridors no sound reached her ears as the thoughts embedded themselves, growing like weeds. Monster. That's all she was. The girl wore a plastic smile, laughing around the people who called themselves her friends. It was all a daily routine, a play. Inside, the hollow guilt made her feel worthless. They knew nothing about her.

Her shoulders sat back on er straight back and chin up to adopt a confident posture, it was slightly painful for her but she kept a stiff upper lip about it all. She couldn't risk hurting anyone. She was a slave to it all, society, her parents minds, her teachers. As long as she was afraid of hurting one of them, she would never do a thing out of turn.
Her mind had a switch. She knew as soon as she was alive, this fake body would be completely lost of energy. The drain happened immediately as she waved her hand to the final oblivious friend.

It was like water in a bath after the plug had been removed. it flowed down with surprising speed creating a whirlpool. A whirlpool of her thoughts, that'd come to bite as parasites on her brain from loneliness. She had nothing to keep for mask up for as she trudged away, making her way back home.

The doorbell hang, echoing through the house. She put on a smile, a smaller version of her mask again as she door opened, offering a happy look and tale of what had happened at school. Her gut twisted a little, most of it had been lies. She ran up to her room and flung the bag down, pressing the button on her computer. With a whirr, it turned on.

She was home.

Her headphones rested against her ears, blocking out all sound. loud music blasted - a bit of Sabaton, Skillet and Neffex. She loved them. The music gave her new life and a genuine smile crossed her face. She logged in as the internet connected. Her home was here, in the world with familiars. They were like her. Her avatar sat at the top. The girl was beautiful, kind and caring. Someone everyone loved. She lived in the roleplays. That was the girl she wanted to be.

That's why no one knew her real name or personality. She wanted to be the girl, not herself. She wanted to be in that world, where the people she didn't know where kinder and knew more than the ones who went to her school. She could talk to them. The messages streamed in as soon as she started replying to the roleplays. her fingers ran effortlessly along the keys, she didn't even look down. it is like she was part of the computer, adopted into the environment. Those unknown characters - they supported them. Age and gender did not set boundaries either. It was all equal.
