Hi there! You may know me from my other adventure game, Sable Lands, and I am back to create a brand new world with new and improved features! In this game, you will start by choosing your character Species, HomeLand, Specialty and starting supplies and complete your sign-up form. I will provide the options for each of these in lists with descriptions as well. Remember the point of this game is to have fun traveling around finding different creatures, people, and items! Once you have completed your Sign-up form and I have accepted it, you have the choice on whether to stay in your home city/town/group, explore your Land, or explore other Lands. I will provide thorough narrations to add to the story element of this game and I would appreciate if you reply with more than a single sentence in return! :)
Now, let me introduce you to The World of Belden!
I'm going to start off by telling you a little bit of a background story of The World of Belden...
Once upon a time, the world was a humble place with little human development; a time of peace and simplicity - which all changed when the Magic Wave hit with full force. The Magic Wave was exactly what it sounds like; it was a wave of magical energy which changed every sentient being it touched, which of course was the humans! Once touched by the energy, the person's body began to change as they watched terrified... Based on one's heritage and DNA, the magic changed them into a completely different species! The process took quite a while, a few hours on average depending on age, gender, health, and their new form. While the strong completed the shift in a matter of a couple hours, the weaker and sickly people took much longer, some not surviving at all. After making it through the complete change, people could still remember their lives before but thought differently, syncing with their new bodies. It took many years for the different Lands to establish as the old ones fell in face of this new age... The Belden Age. Now, it has been 400 years since the Magic Wave and the world is still striving towards peace, but that can be hard when the different species don't always see eye-to-eye... Although cities and smaller towns have sprung up, species often enjoy living amongst themselves, which can add tension to relations through the lands.
Alright story time over, let's get to business!
****************************
Rules and Gameplay:
~Be kind and respectful to everyone!
~Please follow what I say, if I say something happens, it does and you can't change it!
~Don't make your own story! All you need to do is reply with what your character does in response to the situation. An example of self-narrating is replying like this: I jumped on the wild bear's back and it doesn't hurt me at all! We run away into the sunset and find 500 Gold on the way!
~Please make sure to ping me when you post your reply!
~When speaking out-of-game, please put it in brackets!
~Please be literate and try your best with proper spelling and grammar. (However, if you do not understand something let me know or look it up! c: )
~In-game supplies and currency stays in the game! If I say your character finds 10g, that doesn't mean I'm giving you 10g in Sylestia.
~There are NO humans in this game, remember the little story I wrote earlier?
~Food/supplies can be found, made, given, or traded!
~I control pets/companions and other characters than your own in your adventure.
~Please be active at least once a week! I will try my best to reply on weekends when I'm busy but I will always let you guys know, just as I would like for you to let me know if you won't be active for over a week.
~Game currency will be in silver coins, an example of what it'll look like is 500sil. (I don't want to use s as it'll confuse me with seconds.)
~Animals are just regular animals but also include some extinct and mythical creatures!
~There are no skill levels and rankings, however, I may say something like "You've gained experience in hunting!"
~Have fun and feel free to privately message me with any questions you may have or if you just want to chat! c:
Character Species:
~Shapeshifter
I guess this is the closest you can get to being human, but you can choose whatever animal you'd like to be your shift, just as long as I accept it. As a shapeshifter, you have three forms: Human- You can shift body parts separately like shifting one finger to a claw to open something or your ears to that of your shift for better hearing. Beast- This is a half human, half animal form very similar to Worgens in World of Warcraft! (If you are unclear look it up!) Animal- This is your full animal shift but you are larger, stronger, and faster than the normal animal! You may also have unnatural markings for that creature but nothing too crazy.
Shapeshifters are very in-tune with other animals and nature. Though they can have quite a temper, they are normally peaceful and kind, living in small Clans or larger Cities throughout the Lands. Life expectancy of about 100 years.
~Centaur
Ah, the mighty centaur, still quite similar to being, well... half human? Describe your human half and horse half! Life expectancy of 120 years. Centaurs are timid creatures, and very similar to Shifters in the sense of how they are very close to the environment around them. Live in large family herds scattered around the different Lands. Enjoy hunting, art/music, and farming.
~Dragon
What, you can be dragons!? Yes!!! But these aren't massive, hill-sized dragons, they're more small house-sized. Remember you are still a sentient being and can talk! Life expectancy is 200 years. Dragons can vary in personality, just as people once did, there are big Coves of dragons or small family Coves. Dragons typically like having lots of friends but enjoy alone time now and then, they have good connections with other species but that may be because of how ferocious they can be! It is uncommon for larger Dragons to live in Cities, however, smaller sized Dragons have been known to reside along other species in Cities and Towns.
~Fae
The fae have colourful skin, wings (commonly), and are about four to five feet tall. Fae are very sociable and like to be around friends all the time! Very good communication skills and get along with all of the species! Life expectancy 150 years. Most commonly live in Cities and Towns but there are secluded Fae Kingdoms underground!
~Yeti/Bigfoot/Sasquatch
He really IS real! So, Yetis and Bigfeet (Yes, Bigfeet) usually live in small family groups in the colder regions. Although they normally live in solitude from the other species they are actually quite friendly and kind. They love smaller species than themselves and often befriend small animals like rabbits and keep them as pets! Average height is 8 feet and life expectancy of about 90 years.
~Faun/Satyr
These are basically elves with the legs of an ungulate (ie. deer, elk, moose...) with fur from the waist down, a cute little tail and beautiful horns, larger for males of course. Fauns/Satyrs are very similar to the Centaurs but can be quite prickly if you annoy them in any way! They are quite tough to initially befriend but once they are your friend, you'll be friends for life! They love music and food and often live in small towns throughout the lands and with other species. Life expectancy of 100 years.
~Cyclops
This species only needs one eye to see the world! Cyclops are huge, brutish creatures with one big and beautiful eye in the middle of their forehead. They have distinct appearances such as large teeth, pointy ears, and skin ranging anywhere from grey to blue to green or more tan colours. They like living in cities with other species but there are some small Cyclops towns here and there. They are quite goofy an love to joke around, but are well known for accidentally breaking things due to their clumsiness! Life expectancy is 130 years (For those smart and coordinated enough to make it to then).
~Merpeople
Everything's better under the sea! These people are more secluded than the other species, only able to live in the ocean/sea. I'm sure you all know what a mermaid/merman is, so I'll skip a full description, but I'll add that they have fins up their spine, webbed fingers, and gills at the base of their necks. These people can range from your very friendly Ariel to your not-so-friendly Triton depending on where they live. Those who live closer to shore are usually more welcoming to other species and have many trade relations where the ones living deeper in the sea tend to keep to themselves. They can have colourful markings as a fish can and live around 120 years.
~Troll
You may pass over their bridge at a cost. Trolls are very cunning and love being tricksters at other's expense. These trolls are anywhere from 6-7 feet tall with lanky limbs, long, pointed ears, "tusks" of sorts, and usually have numerous piercings. They love trading and anything involving money or treasure. They often live alone or with small groups in cities and towns, always looking for business. Even though they are often greedy, there are some very kind Trolls who are great citizens and businessmen. They are often natural colours ranging anywhere from brown to grey to blues and greens and live to 100 years on average.
~Geolite
These people appear to be made of the land itself, ranging from crystal, granite, soil, moss, and other, I'll post a picture as an example. Although they may sound ugly and monstrous, they are actually quite elegant and soft-spoken. They are very peaceful people, definitely one with nature, and are very optimistic and positive. They always find the good in the bad and are able to adapt to change very well. They enjoy the simple things in life and often have large families and many pets. Even though they are normally gentle, they can become brutal warriors in worst circumstances. They can live up to 150 years.
~Other
I know there are so many more fantasy creatures out there so I'm not going to list them all! Feel free to ask me about playing as another species not listed here as long as you can describe the species! *You will need to message me before making a sign-up form to get my approval.*
The Lands
Where would you like to start, where would you like to go?
~Retseu
Retseu is very similar to Kenya's savannah and grasslands. Many different species of animals live here, some more common than others, some more mythical than you're common zebra! Retseu houses many Shifters, Faun/Satyr, Dragon, Geolite, and Fae and the Capital City is Jubros, which is a large city of trading, tourism, and entertainment. The people in this city know how to let loose and have a good time! Although an open landscape, secrets hide in the shadows of this city... This is a great place to find different creatures and exciting people who can have many connections.
~Ashya
This is a very rocky land with large rock towers reaching upwards and many caves hidden in the stone hills. There aren't as many inhabitants here as Retseu, however there are lots of hidden treasures. Beware, though, as there are mysterious creatures who don't appreciate newcomers stealing their things. Dragons, Shifters, Geolite, Trolls, and Cyclops are common in these parts and with the ocean shore close, Mermaids are nearby as well. The Capital is Srale which looks a lot like a medieval castle made from the natural stone towers and caves. Mining, Archaeology, and Trading are large operations here where profits can be made, be careful though, as with money, comes those greedy enough to trick customers.
~Paetrano
Paetrano is a large group tropical islands, ranging in size with the largest island as the Capital called Cepara. Lusk tropical forests, rivers, and beaches can be found here, attracting many travelers as tourists and merchants. This is often a relaxing place to escape to but also holds many secrets which can be explored on each of the many islands. Typical inhabitants are of course the Mermaids in the water surrounding the islands, who are quite friendly and enjoy trading, Fae, Shifters, Geolite, and Trolls. Will you explore this stretch of islands in search of their hidden secrets or to simply relax and have fun?
~Oquestan
These vast lands hold thick forests of Pine, Fir, and Cedar trees, grasslands, and cascading mountains and glaciers. There is a lot to be explored here with many animals and treasures to find. Temperatures can get quite cold here in winter time which attracts the tough and sturdy species to seek a home here. Many of the species can be found here, including Shifters, Centaurs, Dragons, Geoltite, Yetis and Sasquatch, Faun/Satyr, and Cyclops. Hunting, fishing, mining, farming, and exploring are common occupancies with the people who live here which provides for healthy trade. The Capital city is Sheham which sits in a wide valley and beside a large lake named Glass Lake for it's sheer looking waters and ice in the winter. With all the different terrains found here, it's only suitable for there to be a wide range of species, but also many mysteries to follow.
~Semaso
This Land holds jutting mountains, rivers, waterfalls, and many farmlands. This is a quiet and peaceful land with little to no violence due to the strong spiritual powers. Nobody has been able to explain it, but the mysterious apparitions appear rarely and only seek their kin, guiding them through tough times. It can be quite spooky, but many find it comforting to know they have ancestors looking after them through their struggles. All species live here in peace amongst each other, especially in the Capital city, Huunshi. Many sacred temples have been created to please the spirits and maintain their positive energy through the Land. Semaso sees few new-comers but those who do usually seek peace or have come to explore the breathtaking landscapes. Trade is very strong within the Semaso but trade is light with other Lands as the unknown can be frightening to strangers.
~Gard
Gard is very different from the other Lands, being underneath a layer of incredibly strong rock with openings scattered through this "roof" of rock. The people here have decided to live underneath the rock layer after too many incidents with the large openings. The open space under the layer of rock is so tall and vast, a dragon is still able to comfortably fly. Although this is the smallest of the Lands, many people live here in the Capital city Bristence. Those living in this Land are Shifters, Dragons, Fae, Cyclops, Geolite, and Trolls. Mining, trading, and exploring provide for this city, but explorers must be careful not to get lost in the many caverns and tunnels.
