Is there a essence you can use on a pet to set it's level back to 0?
I have a pet that I bought and needed to bring up its levels only I forgot to assign it a Proficiency.

As far as I know, there isn't a way to reset a pet's level. However, you can still assign a proficiency even if the pet is not level zero.

Yeah..that is true. It's just that the pet could've benefited from more stat boosts if I had assigned a proficiency before leveling it up.

That's ok. Thanks for the answer. :)

What's the pet? Would it be possible to just breed another?

Meh..it was my male Lighira named "Lynx". His base stats were pretty good so I wanted to level him up and used Experience orbs to do so because right now leveling up any pets is rather tedious especially when the storyline came to a screeching halt.

I put some good armor on it then suddenly realized I forgot to set a proficiency.

Maybe I will get a different female to breed it with.

Oh well...thanks.

Proficiency has nothing to do with species, Base stats or equipment; Proficiency given stats scale with the level of the pet.

It doesn't matter if you set the pet's proficiency at level 0, 29, 41, or 60. Level 0 pets always will get either 400(hp) or 20(str/int/dex/agi) for rank one, level 29 rank one gives 1660(hp) or 83(other), level 60 rank one will always give 3820(hp) or 191(other), etc.

The only time when having the proficiency set should matter would be for Move Expertise, which is not active yet and won't be until the MegaZone releases.

I see. I was beginning to think I messed up when I leveled up my pet with orbs.
Thanks for the information, it was very helpful.
