I just made this because I'm new and frankly, I just like to talk to people and most of the people on Sylestia seem to be nice people. (BTW, thanks to everyone who have helped me nurture my eggs and hatchlings on the 'Large Nurture Thread!')

...Plus I'm curious. XD

So, I tested my adolescent Umiko with my hatchling Midori and apparently...

Midori must have the Dragonfly Wings trait somewhere because all of the offspring that came out of the testing had Dragonfly Wings. I can't wait until they're both adults. *-*

The ones that baffle me most are Inali and Dhavala, my puffadores.

They both are black and white, the only splash of color on them was meant to be the ribbon; but it seems that color has been reflected in the offspring's fur somehow. Black and white don't always make grey, it seems...

Purple?

Is that pink in those markings?

And lavender too...

As far as I know, the breeding colors are based on hex codes. I don't know the whole of it, but the way it's calculated probably leaves wiggle room as to create other colors, even when working from #000000 and #FFFFFF. Which neither of them seem to be anyway, which I'm sure causes more color wiggliness.

My Ny'vene hatchling that just became an adolescence boggles my mind.

Her mother shows Back Spikes in Mut 1, and her father shows Crystalline Gems in Mut 1. How she managed to show Battle Armor, I will never understand.

@Selestial,

The mother carries Armor behind her Back Spikes.

If you check this one's linage, both of her parents are visible Butterfly Wings. Her grandpa on her mother's side had visible Spirit Flames so that's explainable.
What really amazes me about her though is that the other Spirit Flames gene that transferred from her father carried down three generations (or two, I don't know, still impressive). From her Spirit Flame great-grandma to her Butterfly Wing grandma, from her grandma to her Butterfly Wing father, and from her father to her.

These offspring from my Ye Jing and Bao Wu baffle me. Ye Jing was captured, and Bao Wu was generated, so the grandparent theory doesn't make sense. Bao Wu shows Jewels in Mut 2, and Ye Jing carries Ornate Helm in Mut 2. Logically, this shouldn't be possible.

@Graygriffin,
It has to do with the way gene/mutation dominance on sylestia work. When you look at the generators the topmost option is most dominant and the ones below are less until the last which is least. In this case shimmering jewels is more dominant than ornate helm so the babies will all show shimmering jewels if they show anything. Does this make sense?
