first of all you will nead to start the visual part of the project. You can ask for click on the offspring but save the philters for when you will get to the full visual.
You will nead 3 parents or more to be able to start breeding. I would suggest you to do 1 male 2 female ( if you go with only 3) as you will get more egg that way. For this phase items are optional but if you want to go a bit faster you can use magical pie.
Once you have your full visual offspring you can start the stat bosting (keep in mind that brother and sister can't be breed togedther). You will nead philter ( prismatic are the best) and nuriture click ot increace the offspring stats.

Ok thanks :) but what are philters? and does it matter what males ane female i have?

The filter are mostly stat bosting item. You can buy them in the scale shop and in the diamond shop. Be carful and read the description before buying as some are doing other thing ( learning / unlearning, amnesia, genderswaping ...)
