I do not understand why you ignored my private message as I can see you have read it, so I will be messaging you here as you appear to be replying here.
As I mentioned in my private message, I am uncomfortable holding onto my diamonds until Sunday for you to decide which offer to accept. Nowhere was it stated in the OP that should there be multiple offers, I would have to set aside my diamonds until Sunday; as stated in my private message, you have not determined what time on Sunday you will be deciding on the best offer. This means that since putting in my first offer of 350 diamonds, I would have been waiting at a minimum of 46 hours and a maximum of 58. I apologize, but I find this unreasonable and this essence isn't so important to me that I will be setting aside 2 days for you to decide whether or not 500 diamonds is a reasonable approximation for the value of this essence. I can understand wanting the best offer for this ryori essence, but I at least expected a response back for someone who cared so much about 'common courtesy.'

Therefore, I will be retracting my offer.

I'm sorry. I didn't get the chance to reply. I have been having some health issues and they pulled me away from the computer. I forgot to come back to respond afterwards. The reason I set the day for sunday is because I don't know what timezones either of you are in, so I wanted to make sure that both had the chance to reply. Also, I work tomorrow and wouldn't be able to get on until late. Most people don't find two days unreasonable and I have been made to wait more than a week on an offer. If you want to withdraw your offer, that's fine. I try not alter timing once set because I know what it feels like to have an item sold out from under me without the chance to counter when I thought I had time.

I see; thank you for clarifying, and I apologize for being rude. My private messages have been rebuffed by a handful of users on these boards during this event, so I must have taken my frustration out on you. Moreover, I've recently dealt with an offering system in which the seller didn't choose the best offer until a day after their designated date, despite being online. It just left a bad taste in my mouth, and I personally think the seller was being shady by drawing the time out even further when all the existing offers were above and beyond the actual value of the item; I retracted my offer because I didn't want to experience that again. So once again, I am sorry if I caused you any discomfort.

I can now understand why you chose Sunday. Generally, I am fine with waiting but I think most of my frustration stemmed from the fact I considered this thread to be more of an 'offers' kind of deal as opposed to a 'bids/auction' arrangement. I tend to associate offers with immediate purchasing (should the offer be satisfactory), but it has come to my attention Sylestians use offers and bids interchangeably. In any case, I would still like to offer 500 Diamonds, but I will raise it to 550 because I feel bad for being so smug in my previous reply.
