Huge paws are gripping a stag, however this one does not have a arrow in it's leg. It appears much younger, and most likely only grew it's antlers this year. Featherdust is beckoning you closer. "Usually where there is one there are more. Deer live in herds. Come on and shoot this one. You can still use some practice, and targets aren't nearly as good as live prey." He moves his wing and you notice he has dug a steep hole. He places the buck in it, which looks around casually as though nothing has happened. "I used magic to clear it's mind. It doesn't remember anything. Try again."

I aim carefully and review in my mind how Featherdust taught me to aim, I release the arrow.

You peer close and notice it rides across a river, and the edges are jagged. None of it is smooth as a matter of fact. Then you realize what happened here. It must have been a Nogar or Dragon. The way it is formed, the distance it goes, and the temperature all point in that direction.
Whatever it was it seems to have made a bridge across the river, which you have almost finished crossing.

You take the shot and watch as it flies through the air. It hits the buck's chest with a loud thwack and knocks it over, a feathered arrow sticking out of it.

Whatever it was it seems to have made a bridge across the river, which you have almost finished crossing.

"Interesting," I muse. "Flower, let's follow this bridge! Maybe there's something across it." I then carefully cross the bridge.

thanks Featherdust.... I feel bad for the buck tho because it was stuck in a hole.

"Yes, but it didn't know that. And i understand how you might feel it isn't fair, but think about it. I could have just killed it before. But you wouldn't have gained any skills. And I'm a Nogar. It isn't really fair to the buck then. What chance does it have if i decide to hunt it? We still have to eat, and if the deer don't get hunted, they will overpopulate, and eat all the plants. Then there won't be anything left to eat, and the whole herd will starve.
The fact that it was in the hole only gives you another chance if you miss. If it was a good shot being in the hole doesn't make a difference. It it hit but was a bad shot i could easily kill it quickly so it won't suffer. If it missed i would just clear it's mind again."
He gently lifts the buck out, so you and him can scavenge it for meat.

"ok Featherdust your right" I say
I put as much meat as I can carry in to my backpack, taking the skin off first and then using the skin to hold the rest of the meat, sorta like a backpack.
