I started this story in another thread before I realized that I should really make it its own thread. I am also going to post anymore stories I think of here.

Day One
The eggling shivered nervously. It tried to stop, but it was too scared. It had started out warm, but then it was forced out of the warmth. That had still been all right, though, because the warmth stayed close by, and slowly it got a bit warmer.

However, just as it was starting to warm back up it felt a sense of motion and the warmth fell away again, but not as violently. It could feel a slight pressure on the shell of the egg, and dimly felt some vibrations. A sense of falling, and it was on something cold again. Worse, the cold thing moved, and the eggling felt itself knocking into other things around it.

After what felt like forever during which the eggling thought like it would never warm back up, the moving stopped. It could feel fainter vibrations running through whatever it was on, and then it was moving again, up, then down onto something soft. Then a moment of lifting, a pause, and then a lot more up and down. Eventually the eggling fell asleep.

When the eggling woke up it was warm, and, best of all, not moving! It could feel faint vibrations as whatever had brought it here moved past it, and then all was still and the eggling fell asleep again.

Day Two
When the eggling woke up it noticed the space inside the egg was smaller, and it wriggled a bit. Suddenly, it heard a slight crunching sound and it had light! It could also hear more clearly, if you could call it that.

In the eggling's opinion it had never been too warm before, but it felt the sensation now. A slight baking sensation was slowly creeping into the egg through the new cracks at the top. Before the sensation could become overpowering it heard something it recognized as a muffled voice, and then the feeling of too much heat disappeared in the face of a calm coolness that left as soon as the extra heat did. Once the eggling was the right temperature it felt muffled thumps as the caretaker left.

Eventually, the eggling drifted off again. Only to wake up much later to find that the space inside the egg was cramped again. Squirming a bit, the eggling heard another faint crunch as a little more soft light filtered in through the enlarged cracks in the shell. Comfortable again, The eggling drifted back to sleep.

Day Three
When the eggling woke up again it sensed the caretaker was not near, but that was not bad. There were no problems for it to fix.

After a while the eggling felt cramped again, and when squirming brought another crunching it also brought a small window into the outer world. For a long time the eggling was fascinated by everything it could see through its window, but eventually the small area it could see grew boring and the eggling started to squirm. Not to get more room, but see more of the larger world. A slight thumping, and then the eggling heard the voice of its caretaker for the first time, saying, "Hush, little one. You will be out here soon enough. Here, I'll just turn you a little so you can see a bit more."

As the view changed, the eggling settled down, and eventually drifted off into sleep. It only woke up many hours later, when there was no sun in the sky. The egg was too small, the eggling didn't have enough room! It could hear the caretaker nearby, saying, "You can do this, you just need to break the rest of the egg away from yourself. You've already cracked it, you can do it!"

Pushing and squirming and wriggling, eventually the last of the shell was in small fragments that the caretaker carefully cleared away so the newly hatched bulbori bunny wouldn't cut itself. Exhausted, the little male bunny curled up on the comfortable, warm nest it could now see.
