It's ok if you don't finish it. As long as you have a pearl on it, the sculpture will be automatically done at the end of the festival.

You can put a mundane pearl on it. Mundane pearls give the sylesti one visible trait. Golden pearls five the sylesti two visible traits, and Prismatic Pearls give the sylesti three visible traits.
