So, I am wondering what your guy's opinions are on art tablets. I am looking to get one and am having a great difficulty finding a great one. So what do you guys think?

My personal experience has been that practice, skill and familiarity with art programmes and techniques are far more important than the kind of tablet you have. Ultimately it's just a tool and unless you're a career illustrator/designer who needs nothing but the best hardware to make professional quality work that sells for thousands of dollars, I don't think it makes that much of a difference.
I started out years ago with a Genius tablet, which was the cheapest I could find on the market. It finally gave out after about three years, and then I got a Wacom Bamboo Pen/Touch, which has served me well for the past four years or so (wow, it really has been that long). I've tried out Intuous and Cintiq tablets in school, and they are pretty dang excellent- they just didn't make enough of a difference to my art to be worth that price tag to me at this point. If I could even afford them anyway, which I can't, hah. (One day...) Anyway, both of those tablets are solid and not too expensive, although the Bamboo definitely has an edge in the coolness department.
I've also heard great things about this Monoprice tablet -- if I were getting a new tablet anytime in the near future I would probably go for that.
My Bamboo's still got a ton of juice left in it, though, so not for a while yet. :>

@pretectrix,
Do you know if any of those hook up to a laptop? Yea, I guess the type doesn't matter, just shopping around you know?
