If you want to do a max stat project, you'll need lots of prismatic philters, since that increases all stats, including health.
All pets inherit their base stats from the range of values from both parents, so it helps if you start off with parents with high base stats. This means if one parent has 30 base stat, while the other has 40 base stat, the offspring can have base stat from 30-40 inclusive. You can see the base stat of pets by looking at the pet's profile page, the stats in (brackets) are the base stats.
To increase the base stats, you have to use a prismatic philter on the offspring when it is ready to be hatched. When you have the option to hatch the egg, select prismatic philter from the drop down list and use it. You can use other philters as well, but the other stat philters only increase 1 stat, so you can use those if you have a particular stat that is especially low.
Then wait till the offspring is grown, breed, philter, and repeat.
The max stat (for now) is 100 for strength, intelligence, dexterity, and agility; 2000 for health; and 120 for mana. There is no way to increase mana.
Nurturing hatchlings can help increase base stats, by a few points. Every 5 nurtures increases 1 stat point.
Breeding max stat pets is a long, expensive process, so good luck with that!
