I was just curious is generated pets fare any better ow worse when it comes to development.
I have a generated Griffi that I am trying to use as a tank and it is doing poorly yet another Griffi that I purchased (an offspring) is doing great and it even started off its training as an adolescent.
Or is a pets success merely dependent on chance?
I know this seems like a basic question but it is good to know for sure.

It depends on the stats of the pet it is possible that your hached pet has more stats than the one that was generated. Also Generated pets sometimes have better stats than captured pets.
If ur pet is not doing as well as u hoped u can always try him in missions.
Also if you really want a tank you can try to get a max stat pet they are a bit pricey but we'll worth you money in the long run.

I see.
It is just odd because the stats of my generated pet (Glacial Scarp) are not all that terribly different from Sevru which is a pet I bought.
But like you said, I can use Glacial Scarp for missions so it is all good.
Thanks

I took a look at them your generated is also a lower lvl so that also plays in the factor of him doing as well. He should do better once he is the same lvl as ur "bought" pet.

Yes, I am well aware of the levels but my "bought" pet seemed to do far better when it was at Glacial Scarps level than what my generated pet does now currently AND with the same equipment.
Oh well...not all pets are the same I suppose.
Edited:
Well...part of my problem (I am ashamed to admit) was that my part had two Shadows and one Water which wouldn't be so bad but the rate they were healing themselves was kinda dismal so I needed a Light for healing.
I like the Shadow element because it can drain from enemies but sadly it only heals the pet itself and not the party so I had to remove my extra shadow pet and put in a Light healer so it is going better now.

Yeah, the fact that Sevru's level 51 to Scarp's 31 is probably playing a role.
It... may also have to do with the fact that both of them are shadow pets that have Phys damage relic?
Like... it's not doing either of them favours giving pets that do Magic damage the Physical-only relics
probably also the level 0 rare bracer isn't helping the difference
Also, I'm pretty sure that opponents tend towards focusing primarily on the middle pet on the field, secondarily on the one at the top, and then at the one on the bottom. So their positioning in-party may also affect things (changing positions for some of our pets changed quite a lot on some of our battle teams)

Yeah..I guess. However like I said earlier, Sevru was doing better at level 26 than Glacial Scarp was when it was at the same level with the same equipment.
However I should have paid better attention. When I started out with Sevru I just had him as a lone member so I needed to give it a little bit of the strength stats just to be able to fight until he was level 26 or so then I paired him with a couple of other pets THEN I put points into his intellect and used the equipment for health and all.
Glacial Scarp is doing better now that it has a light healer to help out; having two shadows wasn't too helpful if there wasn't another to do healing on everyone.
It's tricky and I should pay more attention to the equipment.
Thanks
