I just used three pet dyes on color two of my female ny'vene and recieved no change. I try to change it to 3D0101 and it keeps coming out as 0E312A.
Edit: The fourth time worked after I lightened the desired color...

They're not precise and I'm pretty sure if you're using just standard ones they have a pretty bad swing just like the generator. Not to mention the generator always butchers close to black or white colors so I'd assume standard pet dyes would be the same. One of my projects required dark teal for a specific color for like 8 pets, but a lot of them came out black or a very deep purple.

But with such a big swing, you'd expect the end HEX code to change.

perhaps it's a set number rather then being random although I will have to check the hex codes when I get home I'm on my phone right now so I'll tell you in about 40 minutes
