Sarah flipped her hair over her shoulder and looked up at the ruins of the metropolis that once was New York City. It seemed like years since the asteroid, although it had only been a week. She had survived out of pure luck, stuck in a mudflow hitting her town in the upper West Side. She had been broken free by the shockwave, and protected by the mud. She reached into her backpack full of stolen supplies to grab a harness, which she tied to a lamppost that happened to be standing still and harnessed herself. She began to climb up the side of an office building. She fell only once, felt the jolt of the harness catching her, and then, with her heart pumping, changed quickly to Scarlett and resumed the climb. She cursed as her hair caught in a pane of glass, and then, when she got it untangled and finally reached the roof of the building, looked down at New York City and grinned. "We can rebuild this. It can't be that hard."

Ari sat on a branch looking at the destroyed land, until a worm popped up from the ground then Ari flew down feathers going everywhere then Ari landed by the worm and picked it up then ate it before flying elsewhere.

Joan had been sleeping in the darkness for a long time...
There was a tremor in the building that her ice was in, it was what freed her. When Joan came into consciousness, she found herself in a strange, half-destroyed room.
She stood up, quite unsteadily at that, and fell over. After a few more attempts, Joan managed to regain her strength.
"trange que mes forces me laisse aprs une nuit de repos..." she said. (How strange that my strength would leave me after a night's rest...)

Joan took off her helmet, and took a look around the building. It resembled both a hunter's den and a witch's coven. The room had many stuffed, dead animals and objects that could of had only been of witchcraft.
"Je dois chapper cet endroit terrible!" Joan exclaimed.

When she was outside at last, Joan found that the land looked as if it were besieged by barbarians and beasts. The buildings were demolished, the sky was ashen, and the streets seemed to be bare of townsfolk.

Sarah had been scouring the city for hours, and all she had found were a ragtag group of survivors fighting for their lives. Sarah was ready to scream in frustration. These idiots had no idea what they were doing. She mustered up her courage. "SHUT UP!" They all looked at her in various shades of bewilderment, anger, fear and frustration. "We are the last remnants of humanity in what used to be this great city. We need to rebuild, to cut our losses and find a way to preserve humanity. We are all, for now, going to live together in the 5th floor of the Empire State Building's ruins. There is no luxury anymore. There is also no more feud within the survivors. If you break a rule, we'll banish you, and I guarantee you will not survive. Any questions?" Her newly appointed lieutenant, a teenage guy named Huron, stood at her side, cracking his knuckles. "Good." She turned back around and walked into the huge building, which they were standing in front of, and let them get themselves together while she almost had a mental breakdown. Huron, who she happened to be in a relationship with before the asteroid, patted her shoulder. "You're fine. You were great out there." Sarah nodded. If she said it enough, it would be true. Right?

Joan had wandered the streets for many hours when she finally discovered some people.
Her armor clanked as she he strode up to them and asked who seemed to be the leader, "Excusez-moi, mais ou je suis et ce qui est arrive a cet endroit?"
The leader was like her, a woman who was strong willed enough to be heard. The woman seemed to be wearing pants, but no-one had an issue with it, which was very strange. I also noticed that her eyes were two different colors, I thought that people like that were just an old wife's tale.

This is a very strange land...

Sarah turned quickly to see a women dressed in what appeared to be medieval armor. She had asked her something which she could, however, understand. She thought quietly to herself. Ha! That foreign language training DID come in handy! "Umm, c'est new york city et un succs d'astrodes. N'as-tu pas su? Aussi, pourquoi es-tu vtu d'une armure si chic?"
