When I go to Ethernia I get approached by Chancellor Aedernis, meaning the princess (log to continue getting tasks) is not there, yet when I go into the zone to move on it tells me to go back to Ethernia; and then the situation repeats itself. I cannot continue my questing at all. ^^

You have completed the storyline as of what's currently available.
So you can't go any further atm because there's nothing else available. =P
The MegaZone will be the next progression, but it will be unrelated to the main story quest. However, it will be adding a ton of new content - probably more than Levels 0-60 combined.
No ETA is available yet for when the MZ will release.

No worries at all. =P
There are many confusing things about Sylestia haha. It's kind of been a frankenstein journey since 2012 with a lot of different pieces created at different times.
That's why we're going to completely rebuild everything after we release the MegaZone so we can finally have a 100% polished, consistent game for everyone.
