Pricing pets can be tricky, and generally follows some rules (levels are typically a non-factor in the overall decision):
Species of pet
- Some species tend to go for higher prices, based on popularity of the species, and if it's fabled or not (for example, qitari and zolnixi tend to be way more popular than lunemara and nytekrie)(however, lunes at this time are a nebulous point as their revamp is on the imminent horizon, so people are more likely to either be buying or selling them)
Is it Themed/ Purebred?
- Themed being either the wild-caught themeds from Festival Zones or Exclusives otherwise obtained during fests, Purebred being descended from a single type of Themed.
With the general exception of the Nephini, the exclusive pets tend to be more expensive (as wild nephini are rare and wild Themed nephini are exceedingly so, typically making the Exclusive themed nephs the more common of the two when all is said and done)
Theme
- like with the species, some themes are more sought-after than others, depending on aesthetic appeal.
Traits and rarity
- Newer traits will often be more sought than older ones, for breeding purposes.
Higher rarity (more trait points) also (Mystical>>>Legendary>>Epic>Rare>Uncommon>Common)
(some non-themed wild pets that happen to have very nice colours but low rarity might manage to fetch some amount of gold- it depends on the people)
Project
- Either a Max Stat project, a six-vis project, a project to get a few select traits on the pets, or a combination.
These are always going to tend towards more expensive due to the time, effort and expense that goes into making them.
People
- people who collect a certain species/theme/trait tend to be a more sure-fire way of selling sylesti that fall into their categories if you're trying to sell directly rather than just pricing a pet and waiting for it to sell.
Regen points
- in species that have been revamped and had traits moved in such a way that a particular pet's traits no longer work, they can be regenerated- have their trait points reassigned. These pets often go for high prices (50k +)
Usually the only things we ourself sell are wild Themes, which can go for anywhere from trap-price (5k-7.5k x however many nets were spent in obtaining the sylesti), up to over 100k for the particularly sought-after ones. You can usually sell some for anywhere between 10-50k, depending on these assorted points.
Easiest way to judge for themed pets is checking in the Advanced Search and making a judgement from that using these points. Also, asking in the Region or General chat, or in the forums, what people think something might be worth. |
