Ok..here it is. I defeated Vorpar (which, strangely, wasn't as hard as before) and went back to Astryl's Tranquility and after all the thankies she gives, she tells me to go to Ethernia to talk to the queen but the queen isn't around.

So..what do I do next? Is that all I can do for now until the rest of the story line has been completed?

I have the same question actually. Do you just have to wait?

(Tries to figure out if the next area has been released yet but only finding four-year-old threads about waiting for an update....)

So, instead of releasing the next area in the story, or is the MZ going to include that area? I read the latest MZ post, but it wasn't clear on that.

The MZ is its own region that's going to disappear once the site completely revamps. All of the current map is unaffected by it, I believe.
