Chapter One: Dusty Peril

Dusty Peril

Chora moaned as light filtered through her windows and penetrated her eyelids, making hem glow red on the insides. She opened them blearily and wobbily stepped out of bed. "Kayden? Bleu?" she croaked, her throat feeling as dry as the desert that surrounded them.

"Here!" to voices murmured sleepily from the back. "Ah good! Come on guys, I'm thirsty and hot. Let's go out to the oasis." Bleu groaned, "I'll only go if Kayden want's to go too."

Chora rolled her eyes, Kayden and Bleu were 'mates'. It wasn't official since they were stranded in the desert with no one to marry them and all,but they went with it. Chora shot her best friend Kayden a look. He slowly nodded and squeaked, "I want to go to the oasis, m-my throat feels like spiders are dancing around inside it." He coughed and Bleu snuggled against his side. "You stay here, Kayden. Me and Chora will find some water for you." She cooed, batting her eyelashes.

Kayden sighed and rasped, "I...I suppose... Be careful!" He 'yelled' the last part as Chora and Bleu swiftly swept out the tent's entrance flap.

"WE WILL!" They said over the howl of the gusty wind from outside the tent.

Kayden sighed and shut his eyes, muttering.
