This is just a place to talk about fundamental changes for a species that you feel would be needed in a revamp. This is not a place to discuss genes and mutations but instead to discuss the lineart, shading etc.

I'm gonna go through the pets in alphabetical order and mention anything that I, as an artist and animal lover have noticed about the various species.

Drayel: I have only one criticism with the drayel, and that is the shape of the head. This is particularly as it relates to horn mutations. While I think the crest does serve the purpose of making the drayel look less bald, it just looks awkward for it to still be there once you add on horns.

Faelora: faelora is the species that seems to be in the greatest need of a revamp to me. For one they are rather barrel chested, this is most pronounced in the male.
The position of the males antlers makes it seem as if he has a bald spot to me at least.
This is probably the thing most people would point out but, the noses seem a little too prominent. I am aware that deer have relatively large noses but for a cartoon drawing it just doesn't look right.

Lupora: for the lupora I less have qualms with the current design. It is more that I see some things that could make them more distinct from the Zolnixi. For one it would be nice for the male to have a different pose, one where you can see more of his face. As it stands now his current pose is far too similar to that of the male Zolnixi.
Some things that would make them more wolflike would be to give them smaller more rounded ears. This may sound strange to some of you but, if you compare the ears of a wolf to those of a fox they are noticeably smaller and more rounded.
Another would be to give them a more wolf like build with a narrow chest, elbows that turn slightly in towards the body and longer legs.

Ny'vene: My one issue with the nyvene is very similar to the problem I have with the drayel. That being that when they have horn mutations the fins on their heads look redundant and obtrusive. They also seem to have caused some layering issues in the past. In my opinion it would be much better to remove the fins when you add on any sort of horn mutation.

Sylvorpa: I have only one issue with the current sylvorpa, and that is that when you give them any sort of head fin mutation they look as if they are balding. A simple solution would be to make the head fin mutations cover more of the back of the cranium.

Vulnyx: I am just going to say this right now, vulnyx are my least favourite pet species on the site. While i think the male looks fine the female has so many issues. For one her eyes seem too doll-like to me. Also the female's proportions just seem off to me. Her body looks too long and looks really stiff, which is the opposite of how a cat should look. They are also both kind of barrel chested and have the same bald looking head. I know that you need to leave room on the head for mutations but even just a small fluff of fur would fix the problem.

Well I think that is enough rambling from me. As an artist these were all things I just couldn't ignore. I would like to hear your opinions on the matter.

The Draeyl, Sylvorpa and Vulnyx have all recently been revamped so I doubt anything will be changing anytime soon.

The others all have planned revamps upcoming, I think Faelora and Lupora will be sooner rather than later. Usually when a revamp is in the works admins will release WIP sketches to offer critiques and suggestions so keep an eye out for those posts.
