Hi,

Do hatchlings show what markings they'll have as adults? Because I have 8 right now, 4 of which I was almost certain would show a marking since their parents shared it, yet they all show "None."

Thanks,

Hatchlings show genes but not mutations. While I'm not certain, I believe it is possible for offspring to not possess traits that both parents display. I would recommend getting the hatchlings tested to see if those traits are carried.

Looking at your hatchery...
the brown zolnixi's parents both have G2 and M2, but whilst the mother has them Visible, the father only has them carried. So the G2's carried, but unless it gets tested you won't know about the M2 until adolescence
(a Vis X a carry is a 50/50 chance of being either, depending on what genetics the sylesti got from the Carry parent)
With the teal aur and the ornate helmet- you won't be able to see until it's an adolescent, if it got the trait gene from the mother and not the N gene.

The other three hatchlings are are Tamed, so. No inherited genes there. Egglings are egglings, so no geno- and phenotyping to be done there. Aaaand the puff's an adolescent and 6vis.

Just remember: Punnett Square genetics.
Each parent has two letters per trait slot, and offspring inherit one from each parent.
And if it's an N, it's a dominant Nothing
