[They accused the other herd of killing/kidnapping/imprisoning the gods...]
[Now it has been exactly 5 thousand years since that day..]
[Food is scarce and war is a constant threat...]

"Now, flap your wings and fly!" Flight Instructor* Ara said.
The Qitari foals struggled to lift off the ground with their wings.
"C'mon! A Kelpari could do better!" she yelled.
A young Qitari colt flew up into the air, his eyes closed tightly in concentration.
"Aye, now that's more like it!" Ara exclaimed.
The colt lifted five feet off the ground, then crashed back down.
CRUNCH!
"Ouch. Right on the bramble bush too. That'll leave a mark." Ara sighed.

*Keep in mind that all Larksong Qitari are pegasi.

Ryen ate some grass and watched his mate. She was going to have a foal. It was so obvious. He smiled and sat down. She was as stunning as the day when he had first met her. He wondered what there foal would like. Would it be a mare? Would it be beautiful? He didn't know but he wish he did

"Ari, when are you going to stop being so... I don't know... Stressed?" Ozora asked, cantering over to him.
"I'm not stressed. It's just that, without the Sky Goddess, how will the herd prosper?" Ari said mournfully.
"We'll find a way, we always have."


The Sky Goddess

Shaki and Ryen smiled at each other. Shaki knew she was going to have a foal and she was proud. She would help the herd grow. Shaki walked towards the water which she slipped into. She stayed there for a while. Ryen watched her and thought of his herd.

Sunny charged about, splashing in puddles and squealing in pure excitement. Today was when she would e promoted to a full member of the Herd!
