Are they the same as the eggs you find in exploring?

Pretty much. Scale shop bought eggs are considered tamed pets and have random colors. The only difference between them and eggs found while exploring is you can guess how many traits they'll have by the number of scales they cost. Epic is 1500-1800 eggs whiles legendary is any egg with 1900+ scales. The more scales for the bracket, the higher the number of visible traits. The only species not obtainable via the scale shop are Fabled species, Puffadore, Kelpari and Lunemara.
