I was doing a battle, then suddenly, no noises. this made me reload the tab. it worked fine ever since. I DID check my volume.

Could have been any number of things. Scripts can fail or hiccup for all sorts of random reasons and simply reloading the page will often fix them.

It could also have been an issue with your browser.

So it could have been pretty much anything. But if reloading the page fixed it, I wouldn't worry about it.
