So when playing around with the generator, I love to look up famous art pieces and make a Sylesti based off them. Species, gender, mutations, genes, and colors are carefully chosen to resemble the art piece. I thought it would be fun to see other people do this, so I made this thread.
Here are some I did, with explanations for different choices I made while making them:
Sorrow (Van Gogh)
(I'd put a picture of the original artwork here, but it has nudity, and I'm not sure if that's allowed or not. If you wanna see it you're gonna have to look it up yourself.)
- Female due to subject being female
- Sylvorpa for the curves and colors depicted, also because the subject died later by drowning herself
- Muted brown and black because the art was done in pencil and no color
- Red and blue splash wings represent the suicide of the subject later on...red for the violence of it, blue for the water
- Henna for the pencil lines in the work
- Seaweed on her paws for the plants in the foreground of the work
Girl with a Pearl Earring (Johannes Vermeer)
- Female due to the subject being female
- Bulbori because female bulbori have a similar pose to the girl, also because they are associated with gems, which include pearls
- Colors to match those in painting
- Leaf veins represent her coat
- Iridescence to add detail to the gems and make them appear more like the earring
- Fox tail for the cloth hanging from her turban
Nighthawks (Edward Hopper)
- Male due to painter and most people in the diner being male
- Draeyl because they are nocturnal and live in isolation, and this piece represents nighttime isolation
- Colors to match those in painting
- Runes to represent traces of light green found in painting
- Sunset markings to fit more colors onto sylesti in a graceful way
- Back fin to represent the light-filled diner room
- Traveling Witch's Essence to represent the light from the diner
