Well, to make a long story short, I used two pies, one today and one yesterday. Neither of them increased the ages of my pets:

I wouldn't have even been able to use it on them before this because they would have been hatchlings, so this may be a glitch or it may just be me not reading things correctly. Just let minnow, please!

For pets, age is just simply how much real life time has passed since the pet was created.

Maturity is what determines if it's an Adult, Hatchling, etc.

Those pets aren't tested, so you can't see the actual Maturity value. If you get them tested though, you can view their image URL and look for the &maturity= variable. That will show you what their value is at.
