Lunemaras skipping so much time in their cocoons (how do they even change from itty bitty caterpillars to huge moths?)

well I can imagine all those wings and horns just growing while the pet gets older.
but a snake suddenly starting to grow on my pet - that'd be really strange.
I mean, does it count as two pets now? a cat and a snake? D:

I think lunes change like real moths :p. So what happens is, inside the coccoons, they turn to mush while their bodies get rewritten (new protein formation for wings, adult eyes and such). So I don't think they have much of a rebellious phase (unless they refuse to make a coccoon because they want to be 'edgy' or something)

Edgy lol but there's no fountain of youth so yah, I think it's necessary for them to turn into cocoons and mushy stuff, and it's the only reasonable way that they are forming their mutations.
