FRACTALS. How in the world can it repeat so much. Over and over.

Thats a fractal. All the red circles is the same shape you see in the big picure. I could draw the whole picture red and it would be accurate. EVERYTHING repeats itself. Its infinity. Idk how. Im having a headache.

Imagine that going on forever. FOREVER.

I love fractals!

Benoit Mandelbrot made a tiny book called 'The Fractal Geometry of Nature' - the entire phenomenon starts to become a little clearer (but not that much!) when you look into his logic of things. He explains that fractals are kind of like a 'half-dimension'.

So for example, if you draw a box, and then a fractal inside that box, the fractal will stay inside the perimeter. It doesn't increase in size, but the pattern increases in 'depth'. It looks like the pattern gets bigger/smaller, and maybe it does... but I think it's more like swimming. Zooming into a fractal is like swimming to the bottom of the ocean, rather than just skimming across the surface... Hope the analogy makes some sense :\

If you want to know more about fractals, the best thing you can do is read some chaos theory :) - I read a very weird book once about some metallic aliens that talked to each other by making fractals (I think). If I could remember the book/author I'd recommend the first half of that book to you. (the second half was awful).

Hmm, it's been awhile since I read it... It was a fiction story. The author was using his knowledge of science to make imaginary aliens lol. I'll get back to you.
