This is my story called 'The Frosty Friendship', where there are two young Zolnixies in a stable, who become friends and live together at the same stable their whole life.
Chapter 1: A sweet new beginning
Today was the day that Sonya's pets would celebrate a future hatchling; for today, a dull white and gray egg was to hatch.
"It'll never be a beautiful creature when it hatches." scoffed GreenFern, the leader of the Zolnixies in the stable.
Wing of the Tribes, also known as Trima, snarled at GreenFern. She was the mother of the egg. "Never judge an egg by its color!" She snapped. Trima knew that this would be a special hatchling.
The egg's father, Liam Lava, said to the two Nixies, "Maybe GreenFern has a point. This egg.. I-It's just so plain, and drab."
Trima's amber colored eyes stared hard at the egg, as if to command it to change color. The other creatures of the stable gathered around the egg to wait for it to hatch.
Crrkkk... A cracking sound! The egg hatched.
A beautiful pink puppy was inside the egg, staring up at the creatures with light pink eyes.
Trima almost cried. It was the most beautiful pup she had ever seen. GreenFern scowled, for he did not like all the attention on this pup, instead of HIS pups.
Trima and Liam groomed the new puppy. "What shall we name her?" Liam asked.
Trima replied in a daze, "I like the name Sugar Sprinkles." GreenFern scoffed.
"And what kind of name is that?! Sounds like something a human would name her!"
Liam growled at the selfish ruler. Since Sonya, their owner, was in Vulnyx Caverns fighting off evil creatures, there was no one to scold GreenFern. The Zolnixi pack was fed up with GreenFern, either way.
GreenFern announced a bit later, "I'm expecting a new pup to be transferred here from the Windswept Pack. His name's Frosty Fluff." GreenFern's pack was called Honeydew Meadow, which wasn't named by him.
"Another dumb name." He grumbled as he stepped onto his 'alpha rock'. Breeze, one of the lead hunters, said in an annoyed voice to GreenFern, "Yeah, sure, and your name is just as odd!" Breeze flattened his ears in anger.
"Silence!" GreenFern bellowed. "Trima, you are going to take the pups to the nursery. And DO NOT SING WHILE YOU DO IT!" Trima didn't want to argue, so she just wandered off to her work. Liam, however, wanted to attack GreenFern now. With a snarl, he lunged onto the alpha rock and pounced......
Liam bit into GreenFern's flesh, not too hard, but not too softly. Trima stood in awe before her brave best friend. As Liam Lava let go, GreenFern glared at Liam with angry eyes. "So you've dared to attack your leader?!" GreenFern tested. Trima ran up to the alpha rock. "Please! No more fighting!" She begged.
She continued when the male Zolnixies agreed, "Surely, GreenFern, you know a good leader does not force others to bow before him." GreenFern scowled and slightly showed his teeth, wondering where Trima was going with this. Trima went on, "But, a good leader will always encourage his packmates to stand together, united. Our whole Nixie pack may not be related to each other, but with a good leader, it can feel like we are a family." With that speech, Liam, Trima, and GreenFern heard applause.
"I agree!" Breeze shouted.
Another voice from the crowd exclaimed, "Maybe Trima should be the leader!!!"
