I'd love to be able to use Fairy Mushrooms on my pet in multiples. They're really useful, but when your pet has 2,500+ health and each Fairy Mushroom restores just 50 health, it using 15 of them in a row is a rather painful process.

Fairy Mushrooms are actually just a temporary thing. We are going to add Food into the game which will give your pets unique buffs for long periods of time (30 min, an hour, 6 hours, etc).

These buffs will be things like increased stats, more health regen per tick, and maybe even things like exp bonuses.

Fairy Mushrooms will eventually become food. But they were already in the game when we decided this and we didn't really want to get rid of them so we just left them in there and made them minor potions lol.

So I know it's a hassle to actually use them, but hopefully they'll have a different function in the near future.

Nope, not yet.

Crafting will hopefully be released sometime next year. At this point, not much information can be provided as we haven't really decided on anything yet. =P
