I am making this thread in order to ask some questions. I plan to simply reply to this one thread every time I have a new question, instead of opening a new thread each time.

I've read some player guides.

1.) A pet's stats determine attack type of the pet (more strength = physical, more intelligence = magical). What happens, then, if their strength and intelligence are equal, their attack types both having the exact same values?

2.) I know that getting an essence is extremely rare. What does it look like when you do receive one (especially when nurturing)? Are they put in the inventory with the other items you've received?

3.) I currently have a two-pet party, a Myrmidon and an Illusionist. My Illusionist has five points in Proficiency health, with level ups spread between three stats (intelligence/health/agility at ratio 1/2/4 [16/32/64]). My Myrmidon has five points in Proficiency strength, with level ups spread between three stats (health/dexterity/strength at ratio 1/2/4 [16/32/64]). What is your opinion on the efficacy of these pets in battle? They are Sylvie and Jinx.

Thank you.

Hi there! It looks like you've done a lot of guide-reading, since you seem to have a pretty good handle on the features of battle! I'll try to answer your questions for you. I apologize that I tend to answer with a lot of words, haha.

1.) If a pet's strength and intelligence are equal, they wouldn't be particularly strong in either one. Your pet does physical or magical damage based on whether strength or Intel is the higher stat - a "jack of all trades, master of none" kind of thing, since spending points in Intel [i[takes away points that could be spent beefing up a pet's strength (or vice versa). For a pet to be an effective fighter, it's best to have them specialize in one type of damage and buff up that specialization as much as you can.

2.) There are lots of ways to find essences, and each one looks a little different. If you find one after a battle, it will show with the rest of the loot you earned. If you find one from nurturing, there will be a pop up window telling you what you found. If you find one in mission satchels, the text will say "You have found [insert species name here] Essence!" or something along those lines. In Jinxie's Jamboree, I believe you'll be able to see the shape of the pet whose essence you win, but I'm not 100% sure about that. They are put in your inventory with everything else!

3.) Once you unlock Umbra Forest, I would recommend purchasing your 3rd party slot as soon as you can. It's well worth the gold. Your builds look pretty good! The one thing I would suggest would be to avoid split-damage relics like the one Jinx has - when it splits Physical and Magical damage, it really is a 50/50 chance of doing damage based on the pets Strength stat or damage based on the Intel stat. Essentially, it's a 50% chance of your attack being useless! I would also be on the lookout for epic and legendary gear - it's a huge difference from the uncommon and rare gear. You can find good gear by doing the 12-hour missions, or on the trade broker!

If you have further questions, feel free to ping me and I'll try to help you out! I hope you're enjoying Sylestia! :)

Thank you. I do plan on getting that third party slot, but I have just over 5k gold so it'll be awhile.

You're very welcome! I forget how much gold you need for the 3rd party slot, but if you want, I could send you 50,000 gold to get started! If that would be alright with you, feel free to just send me a CoD! :)
