(Here it is!)

The sun beat down on the dry lands of Mexico. July had his head cast down as Camel walked slowly toward the ghost town. They had a lead about some strange happenings in the small town of Shady Creek, a rather misleading name if you asked anyone that came from the town. There was nothing shady about the place, and there was no creek either. Camel snorted as the dust got in his nose. July patted his side and looked over at Pepper. "It's nearly sundown, be ready for anything." He warned stopping Camel and climbing off the horse. "There's a storm moving in, leave the horses untied, I would rather chase them down then to have to find new ones all together. It's going to be a rough night." He said shouldering his shotgun. This was an everyday thing, wondering into old abandoned towns looking for monsters that may or may not be there in the first place. This particular lead stated that there was a strange being that roamed around the place during the night, eating livestock and hurting the towns inhabitants. Now if this was true or not was still I know but it was better to be present in to face of nothing then to be absent when something did happen. Camel nudged ajy with his muzzle before going into the town in search of some shade. "Place sure is a ghost town, it wouldn't surprise me though if this is just another case of false seeings." The man sighed and began to look for clues. The medalion around his neck began to glow lightly as he entered the town, a sign that there was in fact something not from this world present. "Bingo..." He smiled.

Pepper got off Alaska and patted her side "stay here y'all but if ya need to run like da wind." Alaska snorted and Pepper petted her nose then untied the leather that held her whip she held it and followed July. She stepped into the town, and just as she did a stone on the hilt of her whip began to glow "there's definitely something here July." she said looking for anything moving in the shadows. She walked close to him almost back to back as they looked for any signs of a monster. "You reckon he's gonna be a big one?" She asked almost bored.

The sun began to sit, casting long shadows on the dry dirt and sand. "I don't know." He said in nothing more than a whisper. The shadows grew as the sun sank behind the mountains. "It's show time." He whispered as the first of night came. Camel whinnied and stamped his front feet, pawing at the ground. Bright yellow eyes peer out from under one of the building as the creature crawled out from under its hiding spot. "Now!" July shouted firing the shotgun at the monster.

Pepper heard the shot and ran over to the monster. She could hear the horses beginning to get spooked and she used it to fuel her anger. She uncoiled her long whip and flicked it at the monster expertly coiling it around the monsters wrist. She began to pull on it tightening the whip and dragging the monster out from under the building. The Monster screamed as blood started to spill from it's wrist where Pepper's whip was beggining to cut into the skin. Pepper tugged harder trying to pull it out farther so that July could get a better shot.

July raised the gun only to get attacked by another monster, one that seemed to come from nowhere. He was thrown to the ground, the gun flying from his hand as the creature attempted to cut his face and neck. July fought to hold the monster at bay as he reached for his revolver. The jacket sleeves on his arms did little to shield him from the monsters claws as they fought. He shoved the gun under the monster chin and shot causing a spray of blood to cover his shirt. The body fell on him and turned to ash. July wiped his face before getting to his feet.

Pepper had seen the monster attack July. She had turned and in that moment the monster she was holding saw it's chance and charged at her. It barreled into her sending her to the floor. "oof." she gasped as the breath was knocked out of her I can't breath She thought beggining to panic. She sucked in a breath just as the monster jumped on her. It's teeth snapped shut centimeters away from her neck. "ARGH!" she screamed and punched it as hard as she could in the eye. The monster shreiked as blood poured from it's eye. It started thrashing and it's claws raked at Peppers skin. She gripped her whip and quickly flicked it over herself. The whip coiled around the thrashing monsters neck and Pepper pulled on the whip dragging the screaming monster off her. She quickly got up and pulled on the whip harder strangeling the monster "SHOOT IT!" she yelled

July raised his gun and shot the monster right between its eyes. It fell down dead before turning to ash. July put his gun away slowly and looked to Pepper. "Are you alright?" He asked before picking his hat up off the ground. He dusted it off and put it on his head. His hands were covered in his own blood though it wasn't that bad. "Damn it..." He cursed seeing that the horses were gone. He sighed. "Looks like we are going to have to stay here for the night."

"i'm fine." Pepper muttered angrily "Stupid little devils." she mumbled as she inspected her scratches "I just there aren't any more of those little buggers around." she said and began to look for a house that wasn't completely messed up. She returned her whip to her side but made sure that she had a hand close to it just in case.

July nodded covering his hands. He took a step forward and felt a slight nudge on the back of his neck. He froze not knowing what was behind him. "Pepper." He said quietly. "Pepper run." He said before turning around gun in hand. But nothing was there. "What the..?" A force knocked him forward knocking him to the ground. He winced as the force pushed him forward still. Slowly reality slipped from him and rendered him unconscious.

Pepper ran a few steps then turned around. She saw a huge shape seemingly walking over where July had been. "Over here you big devil." Pepper screamed the beast turned around and Pepper could see glowing red eyes staring hungrily at her damn she thought then still yelling started to run into a building. She could hear the thundering foot steps as the beast ran towards her. She went into what looked like an old saloon and hid under the counter. She could hear the beast enter it made a gross squelching noise as it came in. She could hear a snuffling sound as the beast searched for her. She could hear it slowly get closer one... Two...NOW Pepper jumped out from behind the counter and flicked her whip into the surprised monsters eye. It screamed and tried to lunge at her but she dodged and flicked her whip into the monsters other eye. It screamed in pain and fury and Pepper took the opertunity to run back to July. She got to him and tried to shake him awake but it didn't seem to be working at all. come on come on she thought as she frantically grabbed for his revolver. The monster burst through the door way of the saloon and began charging towards them. She grabbed the revolver and pointed it at the beast who was now running full tilt towards them."Ahhh!" Pepper screamed and began to wildly fire at the monsters head. The monster screamed and tripped. It had gone so fast that it kept sliding after it had fallen. It slid to a stop right at Peppers feet. The monster gurgled blood spilling out of it's mouth, it was dying. Pepper held her whip "YOU HURT JULY." She yelled and began to repeatedly lash it with her whip. With every stroke it gave a gurgling scream but Pepper kept going. She started lashing at it so hard that blood was beginning to splash everywhere covering her whip and herself in it.
