For years, the world had been awed by a yearly comet that would fly by the planet, resulting in a sight that everyone had a chance to see in their lives, unlike the other comets that would only fly by Earth once in a lifetime. However, as these years passed, more and more people became disinterested in the comet, it's appeal having been worn out. Because of this, it wasn't long until a group of aliens (don't question it) decided to use the comet as a set-piece in their plan to eradicate a majority of the human population. Their weapon of choice would kill humans in their sleep at midnight (in their respective timezones).

However, those who didn't sleep were effected differently.The way the weapon worked was through amplifying the person's last action. In the case of sleeping, where the body was mostly inactive, the end result was death. In the case of those still awake though, their last action was amplified, giving them strange, inhuman qualities. One person may become a werecat because they were caring for their pet cat, while another person could be able to produce electricity because they were fixing something electronic. With the aliens leaving to do whatever, the rest of the human population was left to cope with the strange new abilities they had suddenly received.

Rules:
1.) Normal Sylestia rules apply (No Mary Sues, OP characters, etc.)
2.) I don't mind one sentence posts, but if it becomes frequent, I will warn you. This is mainly so the other Rpers have something to work with in their replies.
3.) Your character will not have full control of their new abilities at first. Would you be able to control your character's power the instant you realized you had them? Probably not.
4.) As fun as having powers from a video game you played or something based around this website, your character won't suddenly be a Sylesti/superhero/etc. They will have powers based on the computer/console and what they were doing at that moment on said computer/console (typing, drawing digitally, etc.)
5.) Have fun! This is the most important part of any Roleplay!

Name: Skyla Greenfield

Appearance:
Skyla's appearance was mostly altered by color by the weapon. She stands 5'5", and has shoulder-length hair that is now a orange color rather than brown, and it begins to change to black at the tips. Her eyes are a yellow color, with black sclera (the whites of your eyes). Her skin color is now a very dark orange, slowly turning black towards her hands and feet in a similar fashion to her hair. There are also specks of black dotting her body in places.

Personality:
Skyla is kind and outgoing, cheering on her friends if she isn't the one being encouraged. She's hard to upset, as she usually remains optimistic about situations. She also would rather talk things out rather than fight, despite some people being violent for the sake of being violent rather than for some deeper reason. She's fairly smart, having taken honors classes, but never challenged her intelligence in school.

Powers: Skyla can glow in the dark, and has night vision. Her glow is a soft yellow-orange.

Background: The only important thing about her past is that she had a younger sister and an older brother before the aliens attacked. Her brother is the only member of her family outside of herself that may be alive. She was also used to having a large group of friends, most of whom died from the weapon. She also has a fear of snakes and bats.

Other: Someone can feel free to play her brother or any of her friends who didn't die.

Sorry this took so long. I was trying to come up with a unique character. I also may make another character later, most likely a villainous one.

Finally got my form up. It only took forever because of the time I posted this thread making me tired, and the fact that I've had a bad headache all day but wanted to get my form finished for everyone to see.

Appearance: Yang is now very light skinned, almost pure white. Her eyes are a very light blue, almost white also, they can deliver a very menacing stare. Yang stands at 6'1". Her hair starts silver at the roots and fades into baby blue. If Yang is made mad, her eyes start glowing and swords form out of her hands. Yang can make boys do what ever she want them to because of her looks.

Personality: Yang can make boys do what ever she wants. She can be very violent and is the protector of the weak ones. She will be kind when needed. Yang will trick people into liking her so she can find out information. Yang loves to pick fights so she can show off her skills.

Powers: Yang can turn into weapons. She also can summon glaciers (because she was drinking a milkshake xD)

Personality: A bit of a loner, sarcastic, tough on the outside and soft on the inside. A bit of a rebel.
Powers: Plant manipulation, animal communication
Background: Her parents traveled a lot, so she isn't too shaken by their deaths.
Other: She was watering her bonsai tree whilst gazing at a random fox outside at midnight.

Note: I plan for her appearance to change over time. Maybe every 5-10 pages of roleplay I add something. She goes from human to more...... monster-looking, I guess?

PurePoison, your character is accepted, assuming that she was holding a weapon of sorts at midnight (example: holding a pocket knife). Blaize, your second character is accepted, but the first one isn't because the power would come from the device she was using, not the website/game.

Oh, I forgot to explain that my character got her powers from turning off a nightlight in her younger sister's room since she was asleep (saves electricity apparently, according to her parents).

Now to get some sleep. I have to get up early, and it's past midnight. >~<

You could have a dragon character. Just have your character pick up a dragon toy off the ground because they stepped on it or something similar.

Appearance:She has pale blue eyes and long turquoise hair that turns to white near the tips. Her skin is pale blue and she has gills around the base of her neck.
Personality:She kind of doesn't care what other people are doing, she's rather self-centered actually. She can be very loyal but she sometimes forgets what she's doing because she's so into herself.
Powers:She can breathe underwater and is a really fast swimmer. (She was swimming in the bathtub when the weapon activated)
Backstory:She's always been self-centered, but the weapon amplified that because she was staring at herself in the faucet when the weapon activated. Her parents were hedge fund managers and really rich so she lived in a big mansion. She didn't really care about her family so she wasn't too sad when they died. Her servant Cameron is the only one in the house still alive other than her.
Other:She's scared of heights.

Appearance:He has dark chocolate hair and deep sea-green eyes. His skin is dark and he wears an amber earring in one ear. He has a French accent.
Personality:He's used to being called on, so he has a rather flat personality. He doesn't express much emotion and is very loyal to Leila.
Powers:He can hack into any system on the Internet and can access electricity in small amounts. (He was hacking and got shocked by electricity when the weapon activated.)
Background:His parents died at a young age and Cameron was sent to his aunts house. She was very abusive and he went into foster care. Leila's family adopted him and promised to teach him a lot if he became Leila's servant.
Other:He likes to play video games if he can get his hands on them, he steals a little lot.
