Yesterday, I encountered the Corrupted Qitari in the Garden of Magnates, and I was wondering why I couldn't capture it.

it's probably for avoid any problem with a corrupted pet in a stable, for avoid the possible lose of datta from your others pets or somthing like that. For more information i guess you can ask in the bug reporting ( after all it was a kind of bug in the first place) ^-^

I believe the Corrupted Qitari is a fixed NPC, like a boss pet.
You're not supposed to be able to catch it. Kind of like how Talon in the Nightfall Bandit HQ had his own pets to fight against you, but you're not able to catch them.
(unfortunately, I can't really remember what they look like, it's been so long since I fought against em aha)
