The teacher stared at the girl for a minute. She extended a pale hand. "Good morning Kylie, "she said is a calm voice, "I am the headmistress of this school, My name is Ms Lyder." Her tone seemed slightly cold, but that was just how she was. "You will be joining us this year, yes?"

"Yes that's right!" Kylie said um going to make her like me! That's my goal for this year Kylie thought "are you going to be showing us around?"

Mimmie got up and walked to a boy and a girl with fawn hair. She put up her book in her bag and waved,"Hi, I'm Mimmie Jones, and this is Kik."

Mik was just about to answer when another girl walked up and introduced herself. He smiled, trying to come across as friendly. "Hi! I'm Michael." He bent down to say hello to her puppy. "Kik is adorable!"

Skylar stared at the girl talking to the woman. She's so brave... I wish I could be like that. She was so lost in thought that she jumped when she heard a mew, coming from behind her. "Simon!" She said joyfully. "Where were you?" He mewed again and rubbed his cheek against her leg. She bent down and picked him up as he started purring. "Good to see you too, Simon." Feeling a lot better with Simon on her arms, she mustered the courage to look around and see who else was here. There was the girl and the woman that she had been staring at before, two girls and a boy talking together and a few people still on their own. She perked up when she saw how many people had brought pets. Maybe we can bond over pets? She thought hopefully. She took a few unsteady steps toward the group of three. Finally reaching them, she gave herself a quick pep talk and stammered, "Hi. I'm S-skylar, and t-this is Simon." That's probably as close as I can get to that other girl... I hope I'm not embarrassing myself too much.

Kik got up on her hind paws and started licking Mik's face. "Kik!" She said embarrassed. Mimmie picked up her puppy and turned to the new girl who walked up,"Hi Skylar, I'm Mimmie."

"No, it will be the instructors, Jose and Lizbeth, doing that." Ms Lyder stated. "In a few minutes I will be placing you all in your houses. You may want to go tell everyone else that."

"Hi! I'm Kat!" at beamed at the two newcomers, "this is Jazz." She ruffled the lurcher's ears, "I wonder what house we will be in?"

Kylie nodded and went to a group of people "hi um the teacher over there is going to be bringing us to our houses soon." She said quickly pointing to the teacher

"Hi! I'm Kat!" Kat dragged the newcommer into the group. "Which house do you want to be in?"
