So there's something I've actually wished that I could do on numerous occasions, but it just isn't possible.
Currently fertilizers can only be combined by ONE player who has ALL 10 required fertilizers. This means digging through bag after bag of fertilizers and getting a random mix of them, which can often lead to excess in lessers that will ultimately serve no use if they have nothing left to plant.
As well, in order to help a friend gather more fertilizers you have to send them a BAG, which can have various results. So if I have a greater fertilzer myself but want to help a friend get an exceptional, I can't just give them the greater. I have to get more bags, keep throwing them their way, and hope for the best. While my greater fertilizers continues to sit there and rot in a big stinky useless pile.
My suggestion is setting up a way for MULTIPLE players to 'combine' fertilizers together by adding them to an already fertilized pet.
Like say the plant already has a lesser fertilizer on it. Other players would be able to add their own lesser fertilizer to it to slowly build up to a greater one. Once it has ten "charges" of lesser fertilizer, tadah, it's able to become a greater fertilizer. Same with a plant that has a greater fertilizer on it; any player can add another charge of greater fertilizer to it and if it makes it up to ten, it can become an exceptional.
Naturally it would be ideal to let players turn this function 'on' and 'off' for each plant. Like say they have only one plant in mind that they would like help with - they can activate the addition of other fertilizer so their friends can help.
So far as the cost of the upgrade goes, it could simply be made a requirement for the upgrade to take place. 10/10 charges, spend x amount of gold to upgrade to ___ fertilizer.
It's more or less the same concept of upgrading fertilizers now, but it turns it into a group effort so players like me who do limited gardening can make use of all of the extras they don't intend to use. Like my two greater fertilizers that I really wish I could throw to a friend who needs more exceptional fertilizers. I have 20% of the equation for one of them, but it's stuck in my gardening supplies and there's nothing I can do about it :(
Follow-up Suggestion since we can't actually trade seeds. Planting Seeds in someone else's garden. It'd take the same concept of players having to manually make an empty pot "turned on" for another player to offer the seed, as well as a way for the owner of the garden to either "accept" or "return" the seed that was offered before it's actually planted. (Mostly to avoid randomly planted seeds getting in the way of the intended trade.)
Tacking this idea on after a friend mentioned that she was struggling to keep up with which seed had been planted for who, since as the pets are harvested the rest of the specific rows and placements are completely changed.
This would all be somuch easier if we could optionally plant in someone else's garden. >_>

That's a great idea! I acctually spent money on a fert bag and got a lesser which I had zero use for and a couple of my friends wanted fert bags time get a greater. What would be even better is if you could sell it even after you open it.
