While it would be nice to Genetically test other people's pets without having to actually HAVE them, I think that the current system is fine the way it is. Sure, it's risky, but a lot of the people who offer free testing seem to be pretty reliable in swiftly returning the pet.

As for cross breeding pets, I'm going to add to that! Maybe in the future, they could make a species of pet that you can only get from cross breeding (or make an essence but that isn't as cool). At the moment I can't see the cross breeding happening getting a Lupora from a Puff and a Nixi, BUT maybe at some point there can be some cool breed mixes only gotten that way.

Having other people test your pets would defeat the purpose of buying a genetic test kit. I'm almost sure that would put a dent in how many diamonds people buy.

As I have told you before, different species don't breed together! Cats and dogs don't, horses and birds don't, kangaroos and lions don't, so why wouldn't sylestis follow the same rules!? It would be like a monkey and a chipmunk giving birth to an elephant. That is what it sounds like your'e saying, and I'm pretty sure it is.

also, a 'riddle for a diamond' will not benefit sylestia. People who buy diamonds are what keep this whole site running! If everyone was just doing riddles, where would the money to run the site come from? I highly doubt it's free. Besides, NOTHING is secret in a game.

I'm going to say: the breeding two species together to get either a) one or the other parent species, or b) a 'special' species, have both been suggested in the past and been rejected for one very simple reason: Traits. Look at -any- two sylesties and you will see that they do not share even the remotest resemblance to each other, traitwise. Some may -have- the same traits, but those traits are in different slots, or are a different letter within the slot. And some species have vastly larger trait lists than others. Take a look at any other sylesti's G2 slot versus the Lunemara. Lunemara have exactly ONE trait in that slot currently. This would make it silly to breed them to anything else if you had the possibility of one or the other parent.

As to the whole new special species from cross-breeding: it has been said by the mods before, this would involve a ridiculous amount of effort on the part of the artists to create an exponential number of cross-species to cover all of the possible crosses. And then what about crosses of those crosses? They would much rather have the artists work on content, revamping current species, and coming out with new species. And I definitely agree with them. There is really no need to over-complicate the breeding process by bringing in a whole ton of crossbreeds (whether they were breedable themselves or not).

As to the 'free' diamonds thing... I think it's pretty easy to get 'free' diamonds already. All it takes is a little effort and you can buy pretty much any number of diamonds you need from other players over the exchange. Why spend 500 days on getting 1 free diamond from a riddle a day when you can spend maybe a month saving and buy at least that many from other players? (I speak from experience here. I saved up enough gold for 1,500 diamonds within my first couple of months to buy the genetic tester from the diamond shop because I didn't know sales happen so often XD) it is 100% possible to play the game and use all features without spending a cent, or relying on riddles, ad watching, or survey taking. Definitely one of the top things I love about Sylestia (even though I now buy diamonds myself to support the site).
