Are the eggs in the scale shop special? I'm really confused about them. I bought one and it have me this pet

It doesn't seem special or anything, so I'm just wondering what the point of the eggs are.

Scale shop just gives an alternate way for players to get pets.
The eggs are random, and can be of any species (except fabled and puffadore), and of random traits. The more scales the eggs cost, the higher possibility of more traits. Some players just like to save up scales and buy legendary eggs, which can cost like 2k scales. i know what scales are used for, but i have forgotten how to get them. please refresh my memory!

You get scales from nurturing eggs and hatchlings.

at your hatchery page, there;s a "help nurture sylesties" button, at the top left. click that and choose from the drop down list whose pets you want to nurture, and click "search for sylesties". The page will display 10 pets for you to nurture.
Click on the picture and the right action, and you'll get a scale.
