No, carried traits do not show after time.

Carried traits will not become visible. However, it means that a baby from that pet will have a chance to get more traits.

For each vis trait on the pet, the babies will 100% carry that trait.
For each carried trait on the pet, the babies will have a 50% chance of getting that trait.

So if comparing 2 gp, that is a 1 vis vs a 2 carried, the vis pet will always have babies carrying that 1 trait, whereas the 2 carried's baby has a 25% chance of getting both traits, 50% chance of getting one of either trait, 25% chance of getting nothing.

So parents with carries are good if you're breeding, as the babies will have a higher potential to get more traits, as compared to vis parents with the same number of trait points.
