Well, what I did was play "Jinxie's Jamboree" (scroll down the "Games" tab) and got a bonus game (It's like slots), where I got a bunch of things like Essences and Pet dyes, which I put on the trade broker (Go to inventory, click item, click "Broker item", choose price, done) for a reasonable price (usually lower than the lowest price but not super low) and in a few days someone will buy it and you'll get the money.

(Usually I sold them for 70k or something)

The most efficient way to earn gold on the site is to do missions regularly. Set aside pets specifically for missions, so you can put all their level up/proficiency points to one stat. That will make them most likely to pass the mission of the stat they are assigned to. This way you can get quite a neat sum of gold everyday, without needing to do much, especially once you unlock the higher tier missions.

Otherwise, sell items you don't really need. You can get items from battling, playing Jinxie jamboree, or from buying from the scale shop using scales obtained from nurturing.

It's luck based. You play the game and hope for the best. In order to get the items though, you need to unlock the mini game within the jamboree. You can do this by lighting up all 3 lanterns in each row.

The 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 250 represent the amount of gold you are betting (and hence affect the amount of gold you can win) for each spin. If I recall correctly, you can unlock 10 by completing the Umbra Forest section of the storyline. As far as I'm aware, the higher denominations (20, 50, 100, 250) are not yet available to anyone.
