I set an egg of mine to sell to a certain person and someone else bought it. Why didn't the thing work?

The person won't even reply to my mails asking if I could have the egg back because I promised it to someone else. The person was even online.

The most likely reason is that you set it up wrongly somehow. Did you set up the pet correctly? You have to key in the user ID, and not their username. It's good practice to double check that you've set up a pet correctly (right price, user ID, in the right boxes etc).


That said, since the pet has been bought by someone else, there is little you can do, especially since the other user is not replying. I understand your frustration, since it has happened to me before. But once the pet is bought, you can't reverse it, and the buyer can choose to not return the pet if they want, since the error was not on their part.

The best thing you can do would be to breed another egg for the promised person, once your pet has recovered (I'm assuming the egg is bred by you).
