I've gotten quite a few of the eggs out in the wild, and I was just wondering how people can tell what pets gonna hatch before it hatches? Its there a clue I'm missing?

You can either copy and paste the image URL into the Generator or you can just look at the image URL itself. Example:
Hmmmm, okay, I'll have to try that next time I t an egg! (Though the seemed to have made themselves scarce after the first cavern XD)

If you don't want to do URL....
There is a difference in plain appearance between fabled and non-fabled. Non-fabled are normal, spotted eggs, without any extra designs. (Sorry, can't load images on the phone)
The one posted above by Wander is a Nephini Egg. The distinct trait of Nephini Eggs are vines and small tiny buds.
Aeridini eggs look like a blooming lotus.
Lighira eggs have thick layers of speckled fur on the bottom half of the egg.
Ryori eggs have a strange mist around them.
Griffi eggs have a crystalline bottom.
Etc. You can also explore these through the generator, by just going through the species and viewing what type of egg they have.

Ah! Thanks Fiery!
Are fabled eggs really rare? Like, only available in the higher areas?
It seems the only place I can find eggs are in the Caverns in the first area...
I figure the different areas have different chances of getting genes on the offspring! Maybe XD

For any fables, I believe it is impossible to find them in the wild (I may be wrong). Many turn up in events and festivals, such as the Spring Festival coming up.
You can also buy fables or any other type of pet from other players. Just go to Advanced Search>Pets>Fill in Options>Buy

With the Spring Festival, can you just hunt anywhere for them, or is there a specific place? And do you have to be a certain level? Like a suggested one?
And okay, I will try that! Thank you!
Hopefully I'm not annoying you with questions...

I'm not that all experienced, I've only been here for two festivals.
So I'm not sure about the Spring Fest, but the Fall Festival Zone is similar to hunting in the wild... but well, a festival zone. Usually fables are released in these zones.
When a Fest comes up, go to explore, then Seasonal Festival (As you can see, since there is no current festival you cannot activate this).
And I'm not sure about levels, I think the Sylesti you encounter depend on your level (I was in the level 40s on my first fest)

During major festivals (ie seasonal festivals), there will be a festival zone. In that particular zone, you can find themed pets (pets with fixed colour palette) as well as the season's fabled pet. Spring has Aeridini, summer has Lighira, autumn has Ryori, winter has Griffi. Ny'venes cannot be found in any of the festivals, but can be obtained at any time if you earn marks from fighting in the arena in the 3rd region. Nephinis can be found in all festivals, as well as the 3rd region at any time, just that they are super rare.
You can explore in the festival zone at any level, though the recommended level is at least 10. The enemies will scale to the level of the highest pet in your party.
