Hey guys. I usually don't have any problems with working on the custom .psds using GIMP, but today I've run into a problem that I have no clue where to start solving. So, if you have any experience fixing a problem like mine, I'd be very grateful.

So, my problem is this: apparently GIMP isn't keeping the clipping masks. This makes it so that the colours bleed all over the place in ways that they shouldn't:

Krin tells me that this is what the images look like when unclipped, but with the clipping masks in place, they should look more like this:

So, does anyone know what I should do to make GIMP recognize that the images should be clipped?

Alternatively, does anyone know a good, free, image editing program that does not have this issue?

Set a background of white for the items, and have the color layer be set on multiply.

Oorrrr you can get Krita. I adore Krita. It's in beta mode and can be super glitchy at times so save frequently but

I love Krita.

Hmmm... I tried Krita, and while it's definitely better than GIMP, I'm still getting a few bleeding colour issues with it. Not sure what's going on. Maybe the psd itself got messed up (since paintshop pro doesn't want to open it at all). Maybe I'll try redownloading it and see if it makes a difference

Nope. Seems that Krita doesn't keep the masking either. Looks basically the same, except the base colours are settled better. The massive brush strokes outside the lines remain the same, sadly.

edit: pics of the same pieces in Krita:

Have you tried re-downloading the file?

Yes. The images from Krita are from my second download. I threw them into GIMP to see if there was any difference, just in case, but there wasn't. It's so strange. Wish I knew even a sliver more about the programs XD I mostly just play around with them, and at that, the last time I seriously played around with photoshop was probably a good 6-8 years ago, so yeah... lots of new stuff since then (and I don't have the money to buy photoshop anyway XD The copy I have is so old now... I don't think it would even work >>)

edit: If I can't get it to work, it's not a huge deal. I wanted to play around and see if I could make a cuddling luff or two, but if I can't, it won't be the end of the world XP

I'm going to ask to have a revision done to the file that doesn't rely on clipping masks. I will ping the Site when it's available.
