I found an egg while exploring and I don't know how to hatch it, do I just wait for it to hatch on it's own, or do I have to do something to hatch it? Please help!

You will have to wait for it to hatch. You can tell how much time is left based on the bar at the bottom of the pet profile page. The number is in hours, and tells you the maturity of the pet out of 72 hours, where it will be hatchable at 72 hours.

Every 5 nurtures will add an hour of maturity to the pet.

When the pet is ready to hatch, you'll have the option to help the egg hatch, let it hatch by itself, or use a philter on it.
-Helping the egg hatch adds a small boost to health
-Letting the egg hatch adds a small boost to either strength, intelligence, dexterity, or agility
-Using a philter allows you to increase one/all stats, depending on what type of philter you use


If you do not choose an option to hatch the egg, it will hatch by itself after 24 hours, without any increase in stats.
