I just used the enhanced generator to generate a Faelora, and I spent quite a long time choosing the colors. After finally picking the colors that I wanted and verifying the generation, once I got to her page I saw that the colors were.. just WRONG.
I wanted her fur to be whiter and her flower to be brighter and more orange. The other colors seem to be close enough but having those two main colors be off just bugs me. I didn't have this problem with my other generated pets, so.. yeah.

This is not a bug. This is how the generators work. It is not a guarantee to get the colors you selected exactly.

@Snopal,
That's not a bug, unfortunately, it's one of this site's quirks meant to make things uh. I'm not even sure what they call it. lol The emphasis here is on BREEDING to get exactly what you want. All essences have a certain range the colors can "swing" so you're never going to get exactly what you aim for. The swing is a LOT worse with regular essences than enhanced essences, but enhanced ones have it too. They're not too good at supporting different playing styles yet. :c

Oh! Ah, my mistake then. I guess when I used my other essences I was lucky enough to have them not swing enough for me to notice. I'm still fairly new and it shows, ehehe.
Thanks so much for the quick answers!

It has nothing to do with playing styles.
Since we allow users to customize up to 10 different colors on pets (rather than select from a list of preset colors like most sites or where you can only generate pets by paying for them), and we want to reward those who get pure colored pets (like 000 000 000, 255 255 255, 255 000 000) by having a rare pet - we have color swings.
Another reason is that color swings make Enhanced Essences more valuable than Regular Essences.
So it has nothing to do with playing styles... it's how we decided to create our pet generator. We allow fully customize-able pets that can easily be obtained all throughout the site... whether by nurturing, battling, forum games, mini games, or anything else. So I'm not sure how we aren't adhering to different play styles.
We also have Exceptional RGB Dyes that can be used to make corrections on pets that you really care about.

The lack of different playing styles comes from the incredibly heavy reliance on breeding to get what you actually want, which is necessary because of the color swing. That's the problem in a nutshell. I feel no sense of accomplishment when I actually get something I was aiming for for a change, and nothing but irritation and frustration when I don't. It's not an instant gratification thing either. :/ It's.... Alright though? Just as far as breeding sites go, this is the most limited one I've tried. Ahaha.

I don't think the color swing creates a heavy reliance on breeding... The color swing for Enhanced essences is actually relatively small.
And if you don't care for breeding, don't breed and buy Exceptional RGB Dyes. Then you can set the colors however you want.
And if you don't want to buy diamonds, farm lots of Gold and use the Exchange.
I just think it's unfair to categorize Sylestia as not supporting different play styles since I feel Sylestia allows more "play how you want" than the vast majority of other pet sites out there.

@Mutie,
I'm interested to know what other breeding sites you're referring to.

The color swing for enh essences is high enough to butcher most of the designs I've made recently. I can't agree with you there.
I realize I'm not explaining myself well, and I honestly don't mean to sound rude or unfair, but I think this is something you're going to see more of as the site grows and advances. I've been playing pet sites for years and a lot of the ways you say the site is "play how you want" are incredibly limited compared to other sites like Wajas, Aywas, or even Subeta (which doesn't suffer from a lack of a breeding system!). If I could get a pet to turn out the way I want it to just once, that'd be great! So far it hasn't happened. I have no problem spending money on pet sites -- I've spent several thousand on sites over the years -- but in order to spend it I need things worth spending it on. I would gladly pay $10 for those enh essences if they didn't have that damn color swing. As it stands, they aren't worth it. And exceptional color dyes? What use is a pet that can't breed? I'm not going to sacrifice one game element for another. I didn't say I don't like breeding, I said I don't like having to breed to EVER get what I want. Plus it's a process that takes months and there's still no guarantee I'll ever get what I'm aiming for... for one pet design?
Edit: Breeding site wise I'm mainly referring to Wajas. Think what you want of the site, but there's no end of creativity with the customs, not all of which cost real money. This site there's an incredibly finite number of design possibilities due to so MANY genes sharing the same slots.

We will take a look at options and see what we can do to improve user experience while keep our core values.
We are planning a 'Diamond Shop' update for the near future where we'll be adjusting a lot of philters and various things and will keep this issue in mind for that update.
