I think this should be possible. I think it would be cool to dual wield weapons, or just, like, be walking around with lots of pets or something.

Apologies if this has been suggested before.

Support!

There are at least twice as many held items as there are other types of items, and I see no reason why our avatars couldn't hold a spriteling and a sword. Most monthlies even come with two different sets of helds --usually a pet thing and a weapon--that could easily be layered one over the other without looking too awkward.

Definite support!

I've been a sword-and-board paladin since I first rolled dice across a table. I'm currently avoiding the armors more often than not because it's just plain awkward to hold a one-hander and not have a shield to block/bash with. And if I'm in armor, then it's obvious I'm gonna have a weapon. :P Well, the lack of shields and because I like pretty, pretty dresses.

I can see my character with the swords on her back, then dual wielding any combo of the claymore with the axe or the toxic ray gun with a shield or something)

Although I do like the idea of two held items, I don't think it'd be possible without having to redraw most, if not all, if the held items.. which would take a considerable amount of time and money. As it is the artists are already working on so much.

I support this, however, I support revamps and new content more.

I love this idea!!

I pinged everyone because i remembered something.

Remember the new pet? On the same thread was a avi outfit with a sheild on the left and i think probably a sword on the right. This might be already in dev :D

@ Fresh

I agree with you. Although as Topaz said, the Devs might already be working on it with the revamp. It might partly explain the lengthy care being taken with all the new content.

@ Topaz

Which new pet was this? I am going to look for the thread.

The issue with this is that the avatar bases are static and everything is drawn to fit them exactly. If we were to have an alternative base that was using both hands to hold a weapon, etc, it would require all existing avatar items to be able to adapt to that. The amount of work required to do that is incomprehensible and infeasible lol.

At this time, we are stuck with how the bases are. We are exploring options though for updating our avatar system moving forward but it will be some time before then.
