I've looked at stuff and asked before but I still don't get it. There are slots for moves and whatnot up to 50 points. But don't you only get 12? I'm just really confused on how to use them.

Nope. Thank you though. I've seen a lot of ones about how to make a great team and whatever. I'm confused on how to get to the final tier of proficiencies (50) with 12 points. I'm probably just being stupid or something, but I'm confused.

You get 1 proficiency point for every 5 levels. So since the current level cap for pets is level 60, the most proficiency points you can earn is 12.
When the mega zone comes out, the level cap is supposed to be raised to 75. So we'll have a max of 15 proficiency points then.
when the admins created the proficiency trees, they planned the max level for pets when the full game is launched to be 250. (I think Krin has a pet at level 250, the only one in the game) but I think with the relaunch of the game, the admins are thinking of changing the way the proficiency trees work. Not too sure about that.
