INTRODUCTION
In another dimension, through spirals of space and time, lay the world of Ganadora. A land that was of peace and liberty. A land that was ruled by twelve laws and an ethereal Ryori queen that sat on a throne of silver.
Upon this land lived all the species of Sylestia, from the Ny'venes that proudly rise their wings in flawless flight, to the Sylvorpas that lounge in the crystalline, glassy waters of the Marainna Seas, to the Lunemaras guided by their downy wings, lighting the dark night. All twenty-one species lived in a golden harmony, gifted with beautiful powers.

Until Akaime was born into Ganadora, in all it's beauty and pride.

She was found in the alley of the streets, in the town of Felladon. Discarded. Weeping in despair. A Bulbori of the orphanage brought her in, and gasped at the ryori youngling when her paw lifted from her eyes.
They were a glowing, scarlet red. Dark maroon as freshly spilled blood, crimson as the closing dawn.

Still the kindly Bulbori, Kallida, took her in, giving her the name of Akaime, meaning 'red eyes' in the ancient language of Ganadora.

What a fatal mistake.

Akaime felt the familiar feeling of the warm, silky cloth against her eyelids. The mask had kept her safe for years, from all the humiliation. Instead, she claimed blindness. The female ryori, now grown and strong after sixteen years, stood from her bed of soft fall leaves and downed feathers from the hunted pigeons.

The sunlight broke through the open window of the underground den, that the next door neighbor Luffox had so kindly dug for them. She felt its warmth against her glossy russet fur, and dark velvety paws. Akaime padded through the doorway, tail cloaked in mystical shadow waving softly.

Kallida was in the kitchen, preparing a meal. Akaime nodded to her in greeting, and Akaime yawned as she wolfed down the meal of roots and berries. Other young species roamed the room, although Akaime was the only fabled species. She stuck out like a sore thumb, with her scarlet mask and dark shadows.

"Ahh this is rare. A yearly fall festival. The Queen Pheyrone is hosting it inside her very own castle." Said the elderly Bulbori, looking up from her daily papers. "Everyone will go. It's tonight."

Kallida

"Alright!" Said Akaime happily, along with many others. Then when the gossiping and murmurings fell silent, she piped up. "But it's in her own castle? What of the Lunar Terrorists?"
The Lunar Terrorists were rebels that could, somehow manipulate light. Some say that they stole the power from the Lumeria Crystal, which was guarded by a hundred Ny'vene in the central Capital, Eternalia. A few weeks ago, they had launched an attack on the Royal Castle that Queen Pheyrone resided in, destroying almost one fifth of the crystal structure, and killing over seventy Sylesti.

"That will be taken cared of. She'll probably guard the castle or something." Said Kallida in return, although Akaime could hear the waver of doubt in her voice.

Akaime's paws skittered against the rough stones of the cobblestone streets. Nikki, her puffadore friend and also one of the only few that know of her eyes, skipped alongside her, delicate paws quick along the gray rock.

They stopped at the entrance of the castle, a grand, spiraling structure of crystals that danced with light, lined with glass, stone, and other precious stones. It was beautiful. A crowd of Sylesti sauntered in front of the castle, shouting in delighted happiness. The smell of feasts and game and smiles made Akaime's stomach growl, and Nikki snorted next to her. "I sure have a hungry friend. Now, let's go! Race you!"

"Hey that's unfair! You get a headstart!" Grumbled Akaime as she bolted after the vanishing figure of her friend, paws a blur on the street that soon grew into a well paved, silver road, embedded with oak decorations on the side. She stopped as she caught up to Nikki in front of the grand, golden gates, flung open in splendor.

The festival awaited them.

Akaime bounded into the festival, towards the entrance of the castle, that was welcoming and open. Her tail flicked in excitement, and Nikki caught up with her, panting softly. "Wow..."

A massive chandelier, a whorl of crystal and gold, hung on the tall ceiling, held up by white and crystal pillars. "Now, this is what you call a crystal." Grumbled Akaime as she bounded inside. Sylesti of all kinds wandered throughout the castles, and a large sign was on one of the staircases; DO NOT ENTER THIRD FLOOR WITHOUT PERMISSION. She saw a few curious glances at her mask, but that was typical, and the teen Ryori ignored it.

They went to the second floor, but when Akaime turned around, Nikki was gone. Huh? Where'd she go? They must have been pulled apart from the crowd. Akaime flicked her tail and curiously glanced at the spiraling, grand staircase at the end of the room, flanked by multiple Nytekrie Guards in armor. They didn't look too nice.

Akaime frowned. Did Nikki go up the staircase? With her shapeshifting powers, it would have been easy for the Puffadore. The Ryori grinned. For her, it would be even more easy to sneak past. She felt her shadows blur, her paws vanish. Her powers surfaced as the cloak of invisibility coated her pelt, her shadows, her mask.

The Ryori grinned as she padded to the guards, tranquility almost intimidating, if she was visible. Akaime waltzed right by the guards, making sure to make no sound.
