Hey guys! so heres the scoop, I just joined sylestia 2 days ago and I have a design that I really want to bring to life. I see others on here that have been doing projects and getting donations, but I don't know exactly what I need for this project. (as I said Im really new so don't know much about essences and all that) Heres the picture of the design i want to make real.

Its a 4 vis aurleon.

Probably the best place to start would be to read this thread. It's a thorough guide on projects of all kinds ^.^

Oh My Goodness! This is all so complicated! Yeesh I thought it was just, Generate girl, generate boy, wait to be adults, have children. End of discussion. But Nope! Wow I guess I better start reading!

Which part is confusing you? Maybe I can help? (I've now completed several of my own projects)

But yeah.... it gets pretty complicated if you want a guaranteed breeding pair in the end. I understand your feeling though. The first pair of griffis I generated I did the same as you were thinking. I ended up getting one 2 vis out of about 15 breedings. After that.... I looked into proper project breeding. It takes a while (a good 6+ months most of the time, in my experience, at least if you have specific traits in mind), but it's certainly worth it ^.^

Also, to get a response from a certain person, it's best to ping them (either click the little @ symbol on the post, or put their name in the bar above the message box (says "ping users" above it)) ^.^

Pretty much everything just doesn't make sense to me, I don't know if I can do a project with all reading and complicated stuff!

Okay, well, then let's start from the beginning. Do you understand how the genetics work on the site?

Don't feel dumb. A lot of people don't understand it at first.

If you've taken any high school biology classes, you've probably run into the idea of genetics, including dominant and recessive traits. If not, then just think of some traits being stronger than others.

The laws of dominants and recessives work here too. If there are two different 'traits' sharing the same slot, then the stronger one will show. So, for example, with Zolnixis, in Gene slot 2, Marbled Fox is the strongest trait. If you breed two zolnixis together with visible gene 2s, and one of them as Marbled fox as their trait, then all of the babies will show Marbled Fox.

ex:
Zolnixi 1
Gene 1: nothing
Gene 2: Marbled Fox (AA)
Gene 3: nothing
Mutation 1: nothing
Mutation 2: nothing
Mutation 3: nothing

x

Zolnixi 2
Gene 1: nothing
Gene 2: Fallow Deer (BB)
Gene 3: nothing
Mutation 1: nothing
Mutation 2: nothing
Mutation 3: nothing

Offspring
Gene 1: Nothing
Gene 2: Marbled Fox (AB)
Gene 3: nothing
Mutation 1: nothing
Mutation 2: nothing
Mutation 3: nothing

in this example you can see that the baby shows Marbled Fox (A), but has the recessive Fallow Deer (B) hidden underneath. This is what we call a hidden trait. This hidden trait can be passed down to future offspring.

Babies always get one "letter" from each parent, so, if you breed our Offspring Zolnixi from the previous example to a Zolnixi that has nothing in Gene slot 2, then we will get nothing visible, but there will be a recessive (which we call a carried trait)

Offspring
Gene 1: nothing
Gene 2: Marbled Fox (AB)
Gene 3: nothing
Mutation 1: nothing
Mutation 2: nothing
Mutation 3: nothing

Zolnixi 4
Gene 1: nothing
Gene 2: nothing
Gene 3: nothing
Mutation 1: nothing
Mutation 2: nothing
Mutation 3: nothing

Offspring 2

Gene 1: nothing
Gene 2: nothing (NB)
Gene 3: nothing
Mutation 1: nothing
Mutation 2: nothing
Mutation 3: nothing

If we take that second offspring with the carried Fallow Deer (NB) and breed it to a Zolnixi that also has a carried trait in the Gene 2 spot, we have a small chance of getting a visible trait there again. Whichever trait is "stronger" will be the one that shows.

Offspring 2
Gene 1: nothing
Gene 2: nothing (NB)
Gene 3: nothing
Mutation 1: nothing
Mutation 2: nothing
Mutation 3: nothing

x

Zolnixi 6
Gene 1: nothing
Gene 2: nothing (ND)
Gene 3: nothing
Mutation 1: nothing
Mutation 2: nothing
Mutation 3: nothing

Offspring 3
Gene 1: nothing
Gene 2: Fallow Deer (BD)
Gene 3: nothing
Mutation 1: nothing
Mutation 2: nothing
Mutation 3: nothing

In this last case, the Offspring has visible Fallow Deer and hidden Kitsune (which is the trait related to the letter D in gene slot 2)

Getting a visible from two carries is a 1 in 4 chance. So, if you wanted to do a 4 visible aurleon like the one you have up there, you could do it with 2 enhanced essences (doing 4 carries on each), but each slot would only have a 1 in 4 chance of showing at any time, so it would be a 1 in 256 chance of getting all 4 visible at the same time. This is why we generate 3 parents to start, so that we can slowly breed toward more visibles to have a better chance at a fully visible offspring.
