After my pets get a level up, the 'Explore' and under that 'Inventory' tabs color orange, not 'Account' and 'Stables'.
EDIT: It doesn't go away with just clicking on the stables, you have to go to the Inventory.
Also, if it makes any difference, I have a level 2 pet who I haven't used any of the level up points on.

I believe this is because you have picked up an item after a battle.
The Stable link does not turn red with a pet level-up, if at all to my knowledge.

I check though, and most of the time I don't have a new item.
As far as the Stable link goes, you could be right there, I don't specifically remember one way or another.

There is nothing that lights up Stables at this time.
Inventory only lights up when you receive an item.
It may be an Equipment piece or it may just be another Fairy Mushroom (which will stack into your current stack).

Coming back today I realize that I had gotten new items and although I saw them on the pop up on the exploration window, I didn't go see them in my inventory.
